All sides deny, but AP has the buzz:

Barack Obama's campaign has approached Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel about possibly serving as White House chief of staff, officials said Thursday, looking ahead as the marathon presidential race entered its final, frenzied stretch with a Democratic tilt.

The Democrats who described the contact with Emanuel spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to be quoted by name.

Big fucking thumbs down to that idea:

Emanuel was chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the 2006 elections. After the Democratic Party regained control of the House, he was elected as the next chairman of the Democratic Caucus. He is the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House, behind Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Leader Steny Hoyer and Whip Jim Clyburn.

Some important notes:

He is a member of the "New Democrat Coalition".

He has aligned himself with the Democratic Leadership Council and the party's centrist wing

During the 1991 Gulf War, Emanuel was a civilian volunteer in Israel

Former Clinton staffer - Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and then Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy

In 1998, Emanuel served on the Chicago Housing Association board and was repeatedly accused of undermining fair and affordable housing for low-income minorities. Opponents cite incidents during which Emanuel left concerned citizens meetings in which Section 8 housing destruction was authorized to talk on his cell phone or take early lunches.

Emanuel supported the October 2002 joint Congressional resolution authorizing the Iraq War, differentiating himself from ALL nine other Democratic members of the Illinois Congressional delegation

During his original 2002 campaign, Emanuel "indicated his support of President Bush's position on Iraq, but said he believed the president needed to better articulate his position to the American people

He has advised colleagues not to appear on the popular television show The Colbert Report

He's a Giant Fucking Douche

The little shit got the job.

Democrats/Obama supporters can you explain what the fuck the point of nominating and then electing this guy was if he was just going to appoint a bunch of Clinton erra people? Couldn't we have all gotten that from lady Clinton?
