This time I caught up with rapper Ampichino, who's been featured on such albums as C-Bo's "The Mobfather", & Yukmouth's "Godzilla". He's been puttin in work for a long time, and you can check out what he had to say below.
1. For many who may not know, what does Ampichino bring to this game ?
I bring that old school shit, mixed wit some new shit. That shit to where you aint lookin for a hit, you're just makin what you feelin.
2. You released an album, "Interagalactical", tell us some about that album.
The album was mostly some old material and some new material mixed together. I basically brought some new shit. It was like some outta space shit, mixed wit some new dope game shit.
3. What can we expect from your upcoming album, "Poltergiest" ?
That album is like a movie. Because every song leads into the next one, and each song is telling a story. I may fuck with Yuk on that one, cause he really wanna fuck with me on that one.
4. How did you hook up with Yukmouth & C-Bo ?
Well I first hooked up with Yuk back at the Superbowl, when it was in Atlanta. We talked, and went to LA and vibed, and just kicked it. Then when I was in New York, Yuk called me up, and told me that C-Bo was doin a show in Akron and I should go and hook up with him, so I went to the show and thats how I met Bo. We just started off kickin it, just to kick it, for tha luv and shit.
5. What was it like working with Yukmouth & C-Bo ?
It really was just natural. Them is my niggas, so it was always like a family connection.
6. Many say the state of independent rap isn't looking well these days, what are your comments ?
I feel that independent is the best way now. You can really put an album out the way that you want, and promote it & push it the way you want. And you can push the same number of units as a major, and not have to deal wit turnin' in songs and shit.
7. What are your goals in the rap game ?
To just make a foundation for my family to eat off of, because I really aint trynna get all the fame and shit.A nigga is just trynna get this money, and stay outta the streets.
8. What artists are you looking forward to working with ?
Not too many really. Me and Killa Tay is gettin ready to do a project, but other than that, its just family.
9. What can we expect from Double F Records ?
Well after that comp. drops, you can expect 4 or 5 albums to be dropping a year back to back. And they will be in stores everywhere.
10. What comments do you have for the Aftershock visitors ?
Once this shit starts comin' out, its gonna keep comin'. And to our fans, keep supportin us cause we gone keep bringin you that old shit, mixed wit that new shit. And look out for my young niggas Flossy, Young Rob, Freeze, Chino, & Light, because they got some shit comin too. But basically we just gone be working and gone give yall what yall want.
