Anyone else sick of this shit?

CSI
Scott Peterson
Teri Schiavo
Osama bin Laden
Nuclear Weapons
Abortion

America is in such a constant state of worry and preoccupation with DEATH, DYING, DESTRUCTION, PARANOIA, etc.

Why not focus on life?

Why not focus on constructivism?

Some woman killed by her husband and some drooling vegetable taken off life support are the biggest concerns for our people today?

Why not focus on what life we can create? What life we can change? What life we can save?

There is an almost hilarious duality in American culture - either everything is a-ok! Examples: Friends, Martha Stewart, Frasier, 700 Club, the "starbucks" culture, SUVism, and upper class bourgeois bullshit.

OR

Everything is fucked! We're all gonna die! CSI has people asking weekly whether the woman was fucked with a baseball bat or a clump of nails. Fox News Channel has people worried about dirty bombs, the mass media constantly harps on school shootings, this brain dead bitch, and other useless, fucking irrelevant tripe.

I can't watch Network TV. I can barely watch shit on basic cable. We as a society produce so little that is intellectually, culturally, or ethically stimulating. I feel like I'm sitting in a goldfish bowl for the mentally challenged whenever I watch TV or even read some newspapers.

Fox News Channel's "Around the World in 80 Seconds": How the fuck can you go around the world in 80 seconds? Half of the segments are about Bengalis getting their heads stuck in elephants asses, overloaded carts with people tipping over, etc. It's like "Look at those stupid darkies, fuckin shit up again, slapstick comedy!"

No wonder Bush got elected. America wants this paranoid dualist society where everything is simultaneously dangerous-fuckedup-volatile and happy-peaceful-prosperous all at the same time. Bush's "Us against Them" appeal fits in perfectly with this.

We are peace, we are tranquility, we are happiness, while they are uncertainty, immorality, and instability.

While our schools and children lag behind in language, math, science, and perspective, our politicians blame teachers, schools, and administrators for "funding improperly". This many dollars went here, that many dollars went there. Republicans want "funding from the ground up". Democrats want "globalized distribution".

It's all bullshit. America is the problem. American culture is the problem. (<--Watch Mclean highlight that statement in red and ignore my entire post and theme)

I've realized why I will never be an American Socialist. The greater good or the collectivist uplifting is abstract reasoning. Subordination of individualism is level 6 thought, something America will NEVER achieve as a whole. Ever.

You sure are right, white devil. Only americans dwell on death. I'm glad BBCnews.com doesn't focus on death with headlines like these:

Most tsunami dead 'were female'
Bomb hits Beirut's Christian area
Palestinian refugees in Lebanon fear the return of past horrors
Five die after Iran football game
Rainier's health 'getting worse'
Five die after Iran football game

BTW, I didn't happen to just CUT AND PASTE those from BBCnews or anything. White devil, you were on a roll for awhile with not posting stupid shit. What happened?

^^ Thanks H. Getting ahold of you is like getting a hold of cuban cigars. I been through a whirlwind since the last time we spoke. You're always out on the town nowadays, and your brother got hella tired of me asking for you. Also, apparently it is against all of your moral values to ever answer my email.

Gleaning headlines from the BBC is proof of nothing. Make a wide cultural statement on the preoccupations, worldview, and assumptions of people overseas, especially Europeans.

Tell me who spends more time, money, and initiative on educating the masses, investing in the global South, and adopting collectivism and constructivism.

Tell me who is more likely to "think global" and who is more likely to "think local".

All simple, unavoidable signs of a glaring, obvious problem.

Prove to me that Americans spend time engaging something other than their "gore shock factor", their genitals, or their defensive conservatism, a philosophy of violence. I'd love to see it.

Wow, that's funny. I could have sworn your entire original post was based on this premise:
CSI

Osama bin Laden
Nuclear Weapons
Abortion
Unless there's a secret part of your post that I haven't clicked on, that was the extent of your damning evidence. Oh that and a boring, self-righteous rant of opinion.

Now, I'm not arguing your point, nor am I agreeing with it. But you just felt like soap boxing against conservatism on the basis of news headlines. That's fucking silly and I responded accordingly. And, that's probably why I can't really tell if your main conclusion is americans being more concerned with death than any other collective pop, or american conservatives being bad.

I'm going to ask you to clarify your point before I respond to your other arguments, if I even disagree.

As for RaginHomo and me, immediately after I was banned for the billionth time, siccness registrations were closed and Tha Rippa gave me the pw to RaginHomosexual. So, in Ragin's last ten posts I lazily used the same open proxies as I used for my other accounts.

are u surprised? everyone knows the media, for one, is focused on negativity, and thats because people love it. pop culture is negative too. i mean, this is a country where the death penalty is viewed as "justice".

Cuban cigars can be copped if the person has the right amount of loot :lick: . You can usually catch me @ the crib early in the morning or LATE at night. My brother is out of town and will be for a while so the phone will continue to ring if I'm not at home. LOL@against moral values! Email me pimp, I try to answer it at LEAST once a week.

GOOD POST WHITE DEVIL. . .MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. The real question is, how do we escape it?

@Nostril -- Your points are valid but IMO his post wasn't focused on conservatives as a whole but a glaring part of the problem. They have things pretty easy, they campaign for "morality" in a country that seems like hell on earth to most know-nots.

It isn't difficult to detect this nonsensical dualism in American opinions and American media. Many on this board, and likely all over the US, agree with me on this.

Now, I'm not arguing your point, nor am I agreeing with it. But you just felt like soap boxing against conservatism on the basis of news headlines.I'm going to ask you to clarify your point before I respond to your other arguments, if I even disagree.
Fox News, conservatism, religious fundamentalism, and terrorist scare/school shooting/jingoist or nationalist fear of the unknown go hand in hand. I don't believe you can seperate the American tendency in entertainment media to either paint a field of poppies and soda pop or morbidity, fear, and doom from our political climate. I believe the two are co-conspirators and the lines of separation become blurred.

in Ragin's last ten posts I lazily used the same open proxies as I used for my other accounts.
Alright.

Kryptic, I believe mass education of the American is the largest single objective we need to undertake...before environmental awareness, before serious multiculturalism or globalism, before worker's rights, and before the tired cliche of attacking racism and sexism.

Education with constructive dialogue, at least some varied perspective, and some way to appeal to the idiot masses will be the biggest precipitant of change. But it will be a long hard road...especially for our brain dead society.

Never say never, comrade.

Things take time and certain social phases can last for decades. Bear in mind that it was only 30 years ago when it was considered normal to be a radical and to want revolution. Societies can go through dramatic changes in years even months.

Thank you for repeating yourself, but I was asking "So what?" I'm going to ASSUME that you're saying that any other given society on earth isn't as concerned about similar headlines. I'm asking for a bit of proof, since I don't find any validity in your point when I look at BBCNews.com - which has the SAME EXACT HEADLINES.

It isn't difficult to
The world is triangular. No it isn't. Well it isn't difficult to see that is is.

That's not proof.

Fox News, conservatism, religious fundamentalism, and terrorist scare/school shooting/jingoist or nationalist fear of the unknown go hand in hand.
That's funny, I could have sworn I saw the same headlines on CNN.com as well.

Well until you can prove it's an American tendency only...I'm not understanding this. What your saying is probably correct, it's just a human tendency. Not an american capitalist pig tendency.
