I have a 3.5 cumulative GPA going into my 4th year of college. At most universities academic probation occurs if you have a 2.0 GPA so she's barely above the "raise your grades or your kicked outta school" status.

Not true. Most schools have academic probation if you fall below a 2.0. If you have a 2.0 then you've met the basic requirements to apply for entry at a CSU. Damn, it's like some of you fools either have never attended a university in your lives and are making this shit up as you go or you guys went to Westpoint.

At my university if you get a 2.0 or lower you are placed on academic probation and have 1 semester to raise your GPA or you are released to another college until you can raise your GPA above a 2.0 for a semester.

EDIT: No matter how you look at it a GPA of a 2.7 is not impressive, and having a GPA of 2.0 or lower is embarrassing. Normally people change their major if they can't complete the classes they are enrolled in with high grades.

I went to Berkeley and I looked into applying for graduate school at the UC's and you need a 3.0 to apply but at schools like Berkeley you have no hope unless you are in the mid 3's. I had just above a 3.0 maybe a 3.1 and that might get me into a graduate program at a CSU. If I remember right you need a 2.5 to apply to a CSU graduate program so a 2.7 is pushing it.
