I really mean it . With the acception of the Deliquents. The mixtapes are sicker and way more advance by cats like KSlay ,
Mr. Cee, Craig G, Who kid etc.
No real DJ's doing it in the bay with a few exceptions. It aint supposed to be rapper making the mix tapes. Mix tapes include more than 8 rappers on it. It should feature exclusives. I guess a mix tape in NYC is the same as a Compilation in The YAY.

well the Bay just started doin mixtapes.people like DJ Kay Slay,Green Lantern,and Whoo Kid have been doin it for awhile.the Bay is lucky they have people like Big Von and Mind Motion starting to support these mixtapes

i havent picked any up but people said the DDFam one was good it just came out though. Personally id rather see solo albums...When was the last time a non-rookie bay artist put out a solo cd?

My nigg Cellski was the first one doin mixtapes here. That Done Deal one is good i am sure. I just don't get the cheese to get it yet. I wish someone would post a review of it.

I remember seeing a plug for SWR Mixtapes on the inside cover of A-1 - Mash Confusion back in 98....forget the name....probably never dropped but it's not a brand new concept.

So far I have thought most the mixtapes been pretty tight. I was feeling your first mixtape Cane, I aint going to download the second one, I am waiting for Arsen to hit me with it. I thought silas's mixtape was pretty tight too. Both these mixtapes were free, how can someone talk down on these. The artists putting there music out there for free, giving you a taste hoping that once you've had a taste you will get hooked and come back for more at a price. You all some damn drug dealers. lol.

I aint got that Done deal mixtape YET or Guce's mixtape YET. But I will. The only thing I can say in criticism of the mixtapes I heard so far is that some of the beats are too slow, eastcoast re-runs, just new verses. Need fresh new phatness, but thats not what a mixtape is. Someone posted something up a couple of months ago about how you take a jay-z beat and show him how he's supposed to rip it on the mic, thats what a mixtape is all about.

You're kind of comparing apples and oranges... The freestyle mixtapes that everyone's putting out right now aren't the same as regular mixtapes... The ones that Kay Slay, etc. are making are more like the Mad Idiot mixtapes... These freestyle mixtapes are like the ones 50 Cent and them were putting out... Jacking beats and all that... But I can see why you think all these freestyle mixtapes are weak if you were expecting the other kind. Check out the new Mad Idiot Delay of Game that's more what you're looking for.

IMO,.......fuck a mixtape....they got played out like the first month cats started doin em' i would buy em.....i done heard 151's,both of em, i done heard all of cellskis....i heard guce and the deliquents......i wasnt feeling none of em past one play......ya heard one ya heard em all.....i can understand what cats is tryin to do.....but i havent been feelin it.....although the bonus track on Cane and Arsen first one did stick wit me for a day or two....'specially canes verse....i think Moe was one it too.......i might be worng, but i'll stick to listening to them ONCE on N-ridaz.....wont catch me buying them. then again im a tough fuckin critic when it comes to Bay rap now...........
