What are some of ya'll favorite album formats?

Do you think is too cliché to have the first single as the first song?

Damn, man. This is a good ass topic. I don't think its too cliche to have the single as the first song...that rarely happens in hiphop cd's anyhow. But if that is the only single on the album, it would probably be a smart move to put it somewhere in the middle. I think Scarface-Last of a Dying Breed, Shyne's first album and Dr Dre-Chronic 2001 had good album format. I agree on 50's first album. He did a good job of spreading out the stronger, catchier songs. I think that album is a good format to follow. It was like every 3rd song was a radio song or at least a hood single.

BLH - Loaded was superbly put together in all aspects, including sequence.

T9 - AP....i dontknow what it was, it just worked great. Every song was where it needed to be.

Geto Boys - Till Death Do Us Apart

5th Ward Boyz - Ghetto Dope

Shit, now that i think about it, alot of the big name RAL releases had great song sequences.
