They mostly focused on the issues generally considered to be "at hand", the Iraqi occupation, WMDs, Sadaam, Chalabi's beef with Jordan, etc

So on the WMD issue Rose didn't ask him about false info given to the U.S. about WMD in Iraq?

And they talked about his beef with Jordan and not his ties to Iran?

His take was: WMDs were destroyed or are in Syria.

He sidestepped the Iran question and disavowed links; he even went so far as to dismiss the large iranian presence in the country as nonexistant.

sometimes i wonder why even do any interview if you know it's just going to be lies to your questions or if you plan on never calling someone out as a liar or trying to catch them in one.

Charlie is good at that. What he (and most skilled interviewers) attempts to do is connect all the dots to the point where lies and inconsistancies become apparent. Though there is a certain constant ducking and dodging by all men in power, at least CR frames the questions such that they must be answered, as opposed to a cowed press corps or mechanical press release.
