got a wonderful and thoughtful email today...

To all students:

Due to severe State budget cuts City College of San Francisco will not offer classes during Summer 2010 (except in certain State-mandated vocational programs). Since counseling services will also be severely limited and Fall 2010 registration will begin in the summer, we encourage you to meet with a counselor before the end of this Spring semester to plan your Fall 2010 schedule. You will be provided more information in a follow-up e-mail. We apologize for any hardship this may cause and encourage you to plan your summer accordingly.

-Student Development Division

I was planning on catching up on a class i failed last semester and take a few others this summer, but that's not gonna happen now...fuck.

Took a year off from sf state. I applied to be readmitted (Fall 09') and the earliest I can get back in is Spring 2011. I cant transfer anywhere cuz I'm close to graduating. They gave people 11 "furlough days" last year. They cant even afford to be open everyday, like the DMV and the courthouses.

damn, i was about to take the semester off too, but i figured that if i did i'd lose my spot and i wouldn't be able to come back in fall, right after city i'm transferring to sf state for sure.

howd you let that happen bruh-goon?
doesn't really matter how i let it happen, what matters is that i won't let it happen again.

yea but wouldn't they be affected as well?
Not necessarily. You should look into other community colleges (on the same system-quarterly or semester-as SF City...so you don't have to deal with credit issues later).

The thing that I don't understand is...we pay all this money to go to school, yet the state can't afford to keep them open all the time. Where does the $150 per USED book go? Or the tuition? If the state pays for these schools to be open, what the fuck do students pay all this money for?

^ Forreal, you know how much daily parking is at Sac State? $6.50! Per day, that's like fuckin disneyland. And if you get a ticket for not having a permit, it's like fifty dollars. Where the fuck does that money go? Over 30,000 students around to make money off from just parking alone.

EXACTLY! I remember when I went over to San Jose State last year to see about applying and shit. They told me that due to budget cuts, they were accepting a limited number of applications and that I would most likely start in the Spring of 2011. TWO YEARS just to start because of budget...so I went to UOP instead.

I think parking permits at SJ State are like, $75+, too...PLUS room and board for those living on campus.

I asked the lady where all the money goes, she just shrugged.

Let's keep Scott Peterson's bitch ass alive for the next 30 years...and fuck anybody trying to learn something.
