? about samples and sample programs

I m tryn to find out about how to use samples as in sample disks and samples from records. also what are some programs to use? currently I have cubase LE, and I dont know if its possible to play samples through this program. so let me know whats good. I want to use samples like snares,kicks,horns etc...is it possible to play them trough a controller? Hopefully yall know what Im talkin about...thanks

There are tons of software samplers and software-based sampling instruments. Halion, Hypersonic, Kontakt, EXS24, Reaktor, bla bla bla.

fruity loops is cool, acid pro, sample tank....all those programs do what your asking...even reason I think minus the use of vst...but then you could rewire reason to cubase and use both

Cubase LE is software that often comes with misc hardware for free so I'm guessing its limited as compared to the programs that you gotta spend food money for like SL and SX but as long as it has VST support of some kind you could get like the Emulater or Sample tank or something and youd be cool. Reason is my favorite, it should work with LE but sometimes with programs like LE they have limited rewire support so you go out and buy one of their higher end versians of the software.
