this is a question based on a book I read a while back 'The Transparent Society' in combination with the new ''Naked' airport screening machine that can see through the clothes of airline passengers is raising privacy" article on yahoo.

We are fast approaching (maybe even already passed) a crossroads, where either one of two options will occur---Video Surveilence Camera's, See through X-Ray machines, Audio-Wire tapping, emailect... The issue is ultimately who will get to see what is being monitored?

Should/Will we all be able to have access to this surveilence, and should we live in an open society, or should/will we leave it purely in the hands of big business and the gov't?

Would you be willing to give up your small time illegal hustles if it meant that the big fish white collar criminals had to give up theirs?

What if we had the abilities to police the police, essentially stamping out all crime, terror, and corruption?

Do you care if your neighbor has access to watching you take a shit, look at your bank accts, listen to your phone calls, read your emails, or view whatever other sick private shit you do on your own time, IF it means that we could monitor the actions of our political figures, police authorities, financial institutions?

What about the issue of national security, is this beneficial or detrimental?

Thoughts?

Honestly if the government starts keeping tabs on us like its 1984, I don't care about it serving a greater good, I would take arms against it.

There is no way that the average person would ever be allowed to have this technology because it is already the other way around.

Anybody else imagine a bunch of blokes working for airport security all crowding around a screen when ladies walk through?
