Depends on your A&R status and what company you work for, just like any other job.

If you a A&R at Interscope or something you get hella money, even doing nothing, look at them they doing nothing. And a lot of major A&Rs make money on the low. They tell arstist that they going 2 present to a label that they want 10% of the money or something they get from the label for singing and they make that money on the low. Most A&Rs are shady motherfuckas. Fuck a A&R!

Look at Sean P. Diddy Combs. He started off working as a A&R for FREE at some label. Just for experience. Some kind of apprentice working his way up the ladder shit, and he ended up discovering Biggie & Mary J. and them, from there it just kicked off.

Still, I think that would be a fucking horrible job.
