^^^ YOU EVER WATCH "A SOLDIERS STORY"? ITS A MOVIE WITH DENZEL WASHINGTON.

I WOULD BE LIKE SGT WATERS ONLY LESS EXTREME. THE PROBLEM IS THIS.

THE BLACK MAN IN AMERICA NEEDS TO LOOK AT *HIMSELF* BEFORE HE CAN LOOK AT THE WHITE MAN.

WE ARE THE ONES WHO CONTROL OUR LIVES. NOT THE WHITE MAN.

:h:
This was a post from your Jenny Jones thread and I thought that posting it there would stray away from the subject to far so I started another one.

The deepest thing you said in your post is that the black man needs to look at himself in the mirror before he looks at the white man, which is very true. It's the exact opposite in the black community; we look at the white man before we look at ourselves however this action is due to yesterday’s racism (slavery). What the black community needs to understand is that the white man has done all that it's going to do for the black community, and of course the job that was done was half-assed. Do not look for him to do anymore...

So the solution to our problem?

S A C R I F I C E

The truth is that black people want to see success within our communities, we want to see our people doing well. HOWEVER, one of the biggest problems in our community is that we only want to be apart of that community after it has been paved and the foundations has been laid. We do not want to be apart of the process of building that successful community.

What sacrifices are brothas and sistas willing to make to help our community?

A fault I see in myself is that when I or other people talk about the black race and it's problems we are talking from the perspective of what "others" should do and not from what WE should do to help our community. So the first thing we need to do is make a sacrifice, what are you willing to give up to help the next brotha or sista right next to you? Are we so into ourselves that we do not care for making this world a better place for other black people, heck even for other people period? Individualism and selfishness will not help our community prosper it will continue to make our community sink deeper and deeper to the point where survival is very slim. Blacks will have to make a tough decision and that is either to follow the dominant culture in which individualism and selfishness is part of the pursuit of the American Dream or stray away and help our community by promoting love, knowledge, and economics…

We have to know and love ourselves and where we are from, including me even though I am not from the descendants of slaves. If you do not love Africa and African people there will be no mark of world progress of black people. The only difference between Africans and African Americans is the white influence in our history.

Personally, it took me awhile to think of the sacrifices I was going to make, because it’s a tough thing.

-Investing my time with working with young kids in inner cities..

-Investing: Instead of putting my money into that Cowboy Jersey, hat, watch, and jewelry I saw last week..lol!! I promise to put that money away and maybe just maybe start my own foundation like I’ve always wanted to do…hmmm I’ll see what I’m made of by the end of the year…

-Networking: I am only one man, I can not make the type of impact that I want on this world on my own, so with that said it is a goal of mine to find people who feel me and are down with my train of thought and will be willing to participate. Basically I need to get more involved and hit up different functions and connect with people around the country and different parts of the world...

Thoughts???

thats a quote in which i can agree with :h: about. we as blacc men DO need to look at ourselves (in general).

sacrifice is anathema to most blacc men nowadays. heres the problem: define the concept blacc community. can you? unless you are talking about greenwood in its prime or atlanta in its prime or harlem in its prime (all history now i might add) it doesnt exist.

one thing that ive found in my journey through life is white people are collaborative and sharing people. some may disagree but you gotta think like this. whites will share information with each other because they know making an ally and giving him the chance to excel opens an opportunity for them to be helped. they like team players and most of their social structure is based off of building successful teams.

ive learned that in many cases they have many "indians" and no "chief" in their team structures. but when they do have authorities they have authority branches with a figure head that is usually the voice of its constituency.

blaccs want one leader who is captain of EVERYTHING but they want to be that leader. no heiarchy no structure just dominance.
hence many chiefs and no indians.

i.e. how many white authority figures do you know of? there are so many that you cant begin to count. how many blacc authority figures? so few that you have no REAL variety. they are all monolithic and similarly deposited in their roles.

when you see white authority they are figure heads for for the constituency. they communicate the state of the body bacc to the body. blaccs on the other hand have authority figures who want to BE the VOICE of the body and they speak what they feel the body should be thinking.

blacc leaders right now are the reasons that the world puts niggas on their plane. although many whites cant stand mexicans they tolerate them because of their family structure. which i believe is something to be admired. the blacc family is dead. the mixed family (the blacc man with another colored woman) seems to be thriving. to me this is dimishing assimilation of the blacc race.

bacc to whites. whites seize the moment and opportunity. for this they are percieved as being conniving. they look at a situation like america. they say to themselves look at ALL this land that these indians arent even using. they dont want us to have it but they arent gonna use it. fuccem lets politely take it from them (by any means neccesary). they say to africa. man, look at all them niggers. they sell each other into slavery and they do make good slaves, fuccem. lets politely remove them from africa and use they ass. africa wont missem. [if you disagree ask a few africans what they care about blacc americans]. white look at places like asia. and say, wow look at all these starving people with nothing to do, fuccem, lets givem jobs that pay just enough to eat and use their labor to provide staples for our people.

niggas can learn alot from a "white man" some are to egotistical to see truth life and logic.

..i feel ya cheiftan....

First, as young blackmen in America, we are an endagered species.

Ten, I like the way you think potna...

First of all, I try to treat everyone equally, even Africans man... I'm not african anything ( I cant prove it anyways, if I am ), but am just a person who has brown skin...My history has been stolen, and I dont want to blame a whole group of people who are only linked by the configuration of their skintone, but I can tell you that there werent many AFRICANS or NATIVE AMERICANS who participated in the TRAIL of TEARS, or the ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE, so...

I believe in black enterprising, I spend my $$ with black entreprenuers in my area...I beleive in breaking bread with those in the community who are tryin to come up...

As far as community service goes, I'm lackin...I will work on that this year.

Know what?

After I graduated from high school I used to hang in the prahjix all the time whenI still lived in Auburn, and I walked up on the set one day next to these yungstaz who were holdin the wall servin fiends from a 25c potatoe chip bag...I asked them why they were onthe grind, and what were their motives behind their actions. I asked them why they continued to kill and destroy their own community...The 2 bg'z that were standing there jsut looked at me like I stupid bruh, they was like "Oh you gotta lotta nerve to come up here" and this and that, like they were the hardest thing on this planet next to my own manhood when I'm excited...so basically, they wasnt tryin to hear, and disregarded everything I had to say... but them same kids today can look at what that kind of life can get them b/c one of them damn near got murdered tryin to run upon an Opelika ninjah tryin to rob him for a Fubu outfit...his lil brother got murderd this year by an Opelika knucklehead who let his emotins rule him in the spur of the moment...they homeboys done killed one of my potnaz, and so forth, so it's just a vicious cycle man...

As parents let TV raise their kids , and blackfox buy into the sterotypes on BET, we're doomed man...

I composed a poem/song called "thee inevitable"
and verse 2 starts like this..

v2 we gotta long hoe to row, blind leadin tha blind into a black hole to a place where know one knows why o' fa what foe/ askin are we there yet, i see the degredation of my race up on the tv set/ sterotypin black culture on bet make me so upset sometimes I wanna buck/ x, the generation that was planned to self destruct!

Sorry brotha but I'm going to have to disagree with you on what you said about the black community. There is a black community, and it is alive the only problems is that the community is in shambles right now. Fixing the problems in the community is what I've been stressing. And again like I said it's going to take sacrificing to get things done because in economics there is this term called opportunity cost or "There is no free lunch". To get more of one thing you forgo the opportunity of getting something else. And we will have to forgo something to help one another.

You said something I sort of agree with, blacks in this country and around the world are waiting for the messiah to come and take them to the promise land. I disagree with you when you said they blacks want to be that one great leader. To me I see a lot of standing around waiting for the messiah to come then actually trying to step forward and be that leader. I think there are a lot of black folks out there that are willing to do what it takes to help the community but they cannot find that direction.

lets politely remove them from africa and use they ass. africa wont missem. [if you disagree ask a few africans what they care about blacc americans].
This goes both ways, and the reason for this is the white influence in our history...

We are all very much the same people, however we treat each other like we are different, the truth is we are all very tribal people. I know Africans that look down on African Americans and I know African Americans that look down on Africans. If I had a nickel for every time I was teased because I was African I could buy a house for every homeless person in San Francisco, if I had a nickel for everytime someone tried to beat me up because I was African I could end world hunger. The common questions I get about Africa is "Have you ever seen a lion?"...lol!! Some other common questions I get are "Do you speak African?", "Do you dance like them?" "Have you ever seen an Elephant?"...I really don't take it serious because it's ignorance, what can I do about it besides educate people you know? It's not just African Americans it's other people also. A lot of people have a very little knowledge about Africa, they seem to think that what they see on TV represents Africa. Some African Americans I encounter have no clue where Ghana, Nigeria, or Togo is on a map. This shouldn't be a surprised since our school system barely teaches about African History. To be honest with you I didn't really know much about the slave trade until my sophomore year in high school when I decided to look it up. So I really can't expect African Americans to know about Africa especially if a lot of African Americans do not know there own history.

Now about some Africans looking down on African Americans is very true. When I mention African Americans to some Ghanaians they seem to believe that African Americans are lazy. A lot of that is ignorance, and I guess you can say jealousy because a lot of Ghanaians would DIE just to touch American soil. I've got uncles, aunts, cousins that have there degrees in law, and medicine, that can not get a job in Ghana. They would do anything to get an opportunity to step on American soil and go to school and get a degree. I don't know where they hear it from but when they hear things like African American beg, whine or score low on test scores in school they get upset and make a generalization that there lazy or something of that nature. These Ghanaians say to themselves that "If I had an opportunity to get free schooling (Public schools), I would maximize that opportunity and become a doctor". However a lot of Ghanaians do not understand African American history, they seem to think that the playing field is equal in America. They think that blacks have the same opportunities as whites in America, which is bologne.

We can bridge the gap between both worlds, it takes love of Africa to do so. If you think that Africans do not have love for African Americans you will be in for the shock of your life if you ever made a trip to the motherland. Mark my words brotha...

read this first.

this isnt my real reply. i will do the real one later.

Food for thought. Pass it on. BLACKS DON'T READ For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn't hear it, this is very deep and true! BLACKS DON'T READ This is very deep, and unfortunately, very true! This is a heavvvvy piece and a Caucasian wrote it. THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS. Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment.

A great man once said, "The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book." We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes &Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all. GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%). Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing. They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business.

Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU. And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them "Status" or that they have achieved the American Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities. With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!).They'll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them. SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them.

One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A "Talented Tenth" he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some "form" of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't read that the "Talented Tenth" was then responsible to aid the Non-Talented NinetyPercent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal. Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community. They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)!

niggas dont read. and they frown on blaccs who are intelligent. the smarter you are in the blacc community the more you are considered a sell out. but when you begin to reap the benefits of being intelligent niggas hold your nuts expecting a handout.

A lot of these problems was because of slavery and the shaping slavery did to the black mans mentality.

There's some serious repairing that needs to be done. I wasn't a big supporter of reparation for African Americans, but the more I have grown the more the I see how reparation could help black people. Not reparation in the form that all African Americans can go some place and collect a check for X amount of dollars but reparation in the form of setting up trust funds, and using that money to elevate black schools, neighborhoods, and loans for blacks trying to start there own businessses. Will this cure all of black problems? Of course not, but this shit is definitly a start in repairing the damage that has been done in history.

^^ please read the post again :classic:

Have you ever seen a lion?"...lol!! Some other common questions I get are "Do you speak African?", "Do you dance like them?" "Have you ever seen an Elephant?"
when i first read this i cracked up. after that i looked at it as LACK of exposure and culture. thats not a good thing. especially when we live in a place that has MANY cultures/races/creeds/religions/ walks of life etc etc etc.

as im sitting here today im looking at what tenk posted.

SACRIFICE
INVESTING
NETWORKING

those 3 things are things we DONT do as we should. read my preivious post and you will see it has to do with those 3 things so tenk hit it on the head.
What the black community needs to understand is that the white man has done all that it's going to do for the black community, and of course the job that was done was half-assed. Do not look for him to do anymore...
black people need to accept this because this is 100% truth. this is *THE* truth.
First, as young blackmen in America, we are an endagered species.
i agree. the question i ask myself is what is it about US or our genes that they hate so much?
I believe in black enterprising, I spend my $$ with black entreprenuers in my area...I beleive in breaking bread with those in the community who are tryin to come up...
thats a GOOD thing in fact it should be encouraged.....but.......if a person is black and is using the "come on man we supposed to be brothas" line im cool. 9 times out of ten the person using that line has something else up his sleeve or the service is bad. spend with your folks keep the money flowing between your folks. the black vote is NOT a powerful thing in america BUT......the black dollar......that has a voice. that has power and we need to start utilizing it.

in regards to sacrifice some of us are going to have to be the sacrificial lambs. just like the 60's some of us are going to sacrifice for the next generation. the thing is we will have to sacrifice MORE. why? we are in a WORSE state. if you sit back and you peep whats going on things are WORSE than the 60's. its more on a MENTAL/SPIRITUAL level now. it was like this in the past but i think its a lil bit deadlier now.

im going to be honest. you have to cut off the stepin fetchits, the coons, the sambos, the niggers and the golliwogs. in order for the black race to thrive these MUST be eliminated. now as far as elimination you can eliminate them by educating them.......or......:dead:

when it comes to investing we should invest but we dont do it. we spend spend spend which in most cases equals debt debt debt.....its a shame.

while we are placing gold on our teeth lil johnny...better yet. some of the WHITE kids on THIS site are e trading and investing in gold and other tangibles.

while we are investing time in niggerish B.E.T and other tap dancing stepin fetchit shows (UPN COMEDY) lil johnny....no...WHITE children are surfing the web and learning tcp/ip c++ and linux.

our priorities are SHOT. just look at how much we spend on "entertainment". stop tap dancing negroes and wake up. from the church to the music scene its time we stop.

THEY will FOREVER have a GOD COMPLEX as long as WE are SCARED of revolution. :dead:

networking? crabs in the bucket. greed, envy, strife, malice etc etc etc........i wont even talk about that.

the black men and women in america have CONFLICTING roles. i will explain this later but you can start by reading the willie lynch speech.

instead of bet and playstation 2 we need computers iwth net access in EVERY black home.

instead of bet we need REAL black media outlets.

instead of white education we need REAL african/african american education.

we NEED this. we are in the "information age" and the more USEFUL info that we soak the BETTER it is for OUR people.

i have 2 break.

do any of you have books by cornell west? and where is broaad? i wanna hear/read her views.

how many niggas do you know that even know what CNBC is? or even how to read trend lines or understand the s-curve. to win in the economy you have to understanding the language thereof. education

while we are investing time in niggerish B.E.T and other tap dancing stepin fetchit shows (UPN COMEDY) lil johnny....no...WHITE children are surfing the web and learning tcp/ip c++ and linux.
these shows are the perpetuation of stupidity. the 2000 version of minstral shows. it amazes me how few niggas there are in IT. in school theres been like 1 blacc student per 12 whites in a class.
the best way to tap into the fruits of information is the ability to manipulate the technology behind it. education

our priorities are SHOT. just look at how much we spend on "entertainment". stop tap dancing negroes and wake up. from the church to the music scene its time we stop.
hence the reason i lose my enjoyment in rap on a daily basis. edutainment has been replaced with: lets keep it real, and do some "REAL"LY DUMB shit. every rapper has to come from a baccground that says "i dropped outta school. see! i made it"
that mentality works for very few in this world.
