I was watching "american me" for the first time yesterday...and this dude puppet...was told by his gang...that since he brought his brother into the gang...he would have to kill em...once he fucked around and got thurr leader sent back to prison...now im lookin at it like damn....this cat really did put his gang above all...


iz niggas really gettin down like that tho?


i aint tryna incriminate no one or nothing...thats jus the craziest thing i think i have ever seen...i cant imagine killin my brother for nothing or noone...they would have to kill me....

but yea...thats my question...would u do that for ya gang?

I aint no gang member but, in the movie it was either he (puppet) killed his brother or the gang would do it. if i'm not mistaken the gang was the mexican mafia and that's how they ran it, if you didn't follow the orders of the gang, the gang would take you out for showing weakness. but it is a good ass movie, one of my favorites.

I'm not a gang member either, but there is no way in hell I would put my family in jeopardy in any way. Family is supposed to be ABOVE ALL, that is if you have a "repectable" family. Some peoples families dont give a shit less about em' so they find "family" in gangs. I haven't seen the movie but I'm gonna rent it this weekend and watch it to see what ya'll are talkin about.

Edward James Olmos was given a concealed weapons permit by LAPD that was issued faster due to a threat on his life by the Mexican Mafia who felt, after viewing the final version, that he portrayed them in a bad light (they were esp. bothered by the rape scene of the Italian cat). here is why HE was better off doing it himself...
Big Puppet had to either single-handedly kill his brother in any method he wished (it was not torture at least) or the prison gang would kill not only his brother (in some nasty torturous fashion), but they would also murder Big Puppet himself and unnamed members of his family if they happened to be around Lil Puppet at the time. DRAMA!
