COLUSA, Calif. – A Northern California bus driver involved in a crash that killed 11 people last year has been sentenced to more than 26 years in prison.

Quintin Watts was sentenced by a Colusa County judge to 26 years and four months Wednesday. The Stockton resident was convicted last month of 11 counts of gross vehicular manslaughter and 21 counts of great bodily injury.

Watts was behind the wheel of a bus carrying a group of mostly elderly Hmong and Mien immigrants from the Sacramento area to a casino in October 2008 when the bus veered off a rural Colusa County road and rolled over.

Authorities say Watts apparently dozed off at the wheel, leading to the crash.

Prosecutors say the 53-year-old Watts will have to serve 85 percent of his sentence, making him eligible for parole when he's 75.

if he fell asleep or he was tryna txt message some bop 2 get some uterus i can understand, but if a deer jumped out in the road or somethin uncontrollable thats some ol buhhshit

he was a black man...no prior convictions...he fell alseep at the wheel not on drugs no alcohol or nonthin.....the reason why i said he was a black man.......because it matters....well are california system it matters.......and its bullshit that its like that

yeah fuck the guy for getting 2.36 years per person he killed! Let someone kill your family members, accident or not and see if you are happy with a 2.36 year sentence.

When you say no prior convictions, are you excluding his prison time from convictions for possession of drugs for sale, possession of a firearm, possession of destructive device, check fraud, credit card theft and distributing phoney telecommunication devices?

He did not have the proper legal license to be driving those people in the first place which led to their death, but you say it was because of the color of his skin.

if it really botherd me I'd kill them and not be some BITCH AND HIDE BEHIND THE COURTS , MY FAMILY IS MY RESPONSIBILITY.lol@ people putting there faith in the "justice system"
