ATLANTA (AP) -- Allen Iverson had 38 points, nine assists and eight steals as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Atlanta Hawks 110-89 Saturday night.

Iverson finished 17-for-25 from the floor, missing his only 3-point attempt. He hit eight straight midrange jump shots before missing an 18-footer from the left baseline late in the second quarter.

Philadelphia took a 38-26 lead midway through the second quarter on Iverson's 22-footer, and the Sixers maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Glenn Robinson, who missed an overtime loss Wednesday at Detroit with an inflamed left Achilles heel, led Atlanta with 16 points on 5-for-18 shooting. Robinson committed seven of the Hawks' 17 turnovers.

Philadelphia improved to 18-5 since the All-Star break, while Atlanta lost its third straight.

Derrick Coleman did not play because of a left quadriceps contusion. Kenny Thomas started and finished with 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Jason Terry's layup with 7:08 left in the third quarter cut the lead to 65-55, but the Hawks never got any closer.

Game notes
Coleman, who was injured as he collided with Jermaine O'Neal in the 76ers' 91-85 victory Wednesday at Indiana, had seven points in a 102-98 loss Friday to Golden State. ... Philadelphia also was without reserve forward Brian Skinner, who missed his second straight game because of personal business. Sixers coach Larry Brown refused to give any details about Skinner.

Iverson had yet another good game, looks like he is gonna lead the Sixers deep into the playoffs in the weak Eastern Conference. lol @ The Mighty Hawks.

8 Steals? I still wonder how he doesnt lead the league in steals. Im sure if he tried hard enough he could probably average 3-4 per game.

yeah Iverson is the best stealer of the league again. He plays great right now and I think he T-Mac and Kidd are the only players out the east who'd deserve to win the mvp award. But I think the mvp quest is over now cause Duncan will win it again this year for sure.

Thats right, my bad he does lead the league. I don't know why I though he wasn't. Anyways, like I said, he could probable snatch 3-4 a game if he wanted to.

Yea he is averaging like 2.76, so almost 3 a game, but yea that foo but be snatchin up the rock from foos though. As for MVP, I still dont know between Duncan & Garnett!! But I think its only between those 2! I dont think McGrady, Iverson, or Ko-Me could win it this year!!! GOT EM!!!
