Am I the only one that hates this whole attempt at classification??

Its a damn human version of the BCS rankings
The minute you lose, you're dropped from your position. If you're not as good but still pull off a win you lose points. What the hell is that? I swear I hate reading boxing articles because that shit almost always surfaces. The inevitable, 'pound 4 pound' ranking discussion. How is it that someone at flyweight could in theory be considered pound 4 pound the best fighter regardless if they ever fought severely outside their avg weight class. Take Manny Pacquiao for instance. They are starting to consider him. He will never step up to 140, 150 or anything like that. But b/c he might beat everyone within range he gets consideration. But let Floyd Mayweather keep moving up and then get DEMOLISHED (lets say 4 the sake of my argument @ 168) he would instantly lose the title just because he lost terribly. How dumb is that? I swear folks need to give that up.

The horrible thing about boxing is its only as good as the pool of professional boxers, and most everyone will admit that but still they try to have some measurement of something that is immeasurable.

I don't know many people who buy into them...pound for pound lists are nothing more than media hype, used by promoters to promote certain fighters, and to promote certain fights...

I look at it the same way I look at anyone's...

Best Emcee's Ever list, in that, whoever is compiling the list, is basing it off of their own criteria...

Boxing just aint what it used to be. We need a tourny style to determine the pound for pound best fighter. 3 champs, heavy, middle and light. That will determine the best of the best.
