yall think its a good idea? a big compilation featuring folks from every angle of the 408?..i feel like out of all the bay area spots we are the least recognized..i think if it was a seriously planned out record..with good artist and good tracks..this shit could shine some light on the 408....maybe help the artist involved push there other products a lil better and perhaps form some sort of unity between folks in our immediate area...cuz how i see it..its alotta division and not enuff 408love...just a thought i been pondering for a minute now..thought id run it by a 408 hustler and see what ya think

I agree, I've tried and I personally don't get that much support from most of the labels in San Jose or the 408, so although I know for a fact that I could pull it off...I won't give it a 2nd thought because I've shot myself in the foot too many times with the effort of trying to pull everyone together...

If some other label gives it a shot tell them to hit me and I'd be MORE THAN WILLING to lend a hand if they come correct.

Respect homie...I think you have a great idea, I hope someone runs with it because I don't think ANY of the compilations that have came out represented for all sides of the 408...mine included.

im really in no position to make a move like this...but its good to know that at least you are down with the concept...maybe if i run the idea across some more folks it will build and than someone will run with it...cuz like u said..it has been some comps..but none of them have touched down with artists from all neighboring cities in the 408...we'll see what happens tho

I started out the exact way you are hoping this would go down homie....I came into it wanting EVERYONE in San Jose and the surrounding 408 areas united...I got the door slammed right in my face numerous times.

Hence what was created.....THE 48 MONSTA...

Problem is that certain rappers and labels, think since they dropped a few albums made a few guest spots, that they are on whole new level which isnt the case with alot of them. They got good solid fanbases but only in san jo.. Most of them are content selling just in San Jo, rather then expanding there music to other cites, in there eyes they already made it.

Quick note...Greg G tried this, Assassin tried this, G-Roc tried this and it just didn't fly like it should have.

I'd do it, cause I ALWAYS give back to San Jose, CA even now that I have relocated but I know for a fact folks wouldn't ralley behind me mane...I'm somewhat controversial out there if you know what I mean.

yea i feel u on the folks who make it more difficult to accomplish..but im sayin..i know for a fact its alotta hungry dudes out here...ones who arent really established ..but would be quik as fuck to get down..so im sayin FUCK some fools who aint willing to help there own stomping ground..they can sit back while the project is created and than feel dumb when its all pressed up and gettin play all over the bay...im sayin..the shit will happen..but its a matter of time and money..the 2 will come together eventually..patience is virtue

oh yea..and its not just san jose..im talkin bout Milpitas sunnyvale santa clara..an even amount of artists from all 408 cities..i already know a good handfull of cats who would be down..a group outta sj...some of my folks from Milpitas...if you were down rae thats crackin right there...maybe game insane would be down...shit..i dunno..but this shit is not impossible....hopefully one day in the near future we can all come together and realize this will be beneficial to everybody

Sup brotha...good to see more 408er's here. If Metal Mouth wants to put something together tell them to give me a ring and I will be more than happy to contribute something to it to help try and make a change in the 408 scene. I got a full plate right now and my manager and I are real focused on the tasks at hand so I personally cannot put this project together and release it, but I will contribute.

I'd be down as fuck to get this ball rollin'...shiiiiit.

BUT, this is how I would do it. I've met a lot of cats from the 408 and a lot of them have chips on their shoulders thinking they are IT, they are THE ONE!! What I would do, is go out and find young cats, 18, 19, cats that are HUNGRY...and if they got talent, put 'em on. I would lace the album with a lot of fresh talent, mixed in with the older cats who are holding their own...such as Assassin, Playa Rae, Jaz, etc...

Check the record, I'm KNOWN for finding people with major talent, and that's what I would do for the majority of this record. I might even start looking now.

@Ray Sup Homeboy. 408 project sound's good but me personally i pretty much liked the unity you brought into that cinco de mayo mixtape. hella track's like that bringin the latino rap community together. that was some good stuff. if somethin ever pop's off like that again make sure you holla at me and ccytzo. we really need to see some more compilation's like that. and i hope one like that comes around again.
