I REALLY DON'T SEE THE POINT OF MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL OF 9/11....IT DIDN'T AFFECT ME LAST YEAR AT ALL AND EVEN LESS THIS YEAR....I COULD ARE LESS ABOUT HEARING THE SAME SHIT REHASHED OVER AND OVER....I HAVE NOT WATCHED TV OR RADIO ALL DAY SO I CAN AVOID IT ALL....IT IS SAD THAT ALL THOSE PEOPLE DIED,BUT IT REALLY DONT CONCERN ME....THE TEACHERS AT MY DAUGHTERS SCHOOL HAVE MY GIRL TORE UP.....SHE CAME HOME LAST YEAR ASKING IF MY WIFE WAS GOING TO DIE SINCE SHE WORKS IN A TALL BUILDING....SHE CAME HOME ASKING THE SAME SHIT TODAY......PLUS SHE GOT IN TROUBLE TODAY FOR ASKIN AN ARABIC KID IN HER CLASS IF HE KNOWS WHO DID THE BOMBING...I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING ABOUT 9/11 TO HER LAST YEAR,BUT THE TEACHERS AND MEDIA TELL HER DIFFERENT THINGS SO SHE IS CONFUSED.....I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS SHIT TO A 6 YEAR OLD...HOPEFULLY ALL THIS 9/11 STUFF WILL GO AWAY SOON.....I'M SICK OF SEEING ALL THESE BASTARDS TRYIN TO CASH IN ON IT....EVERYONE EXCEPT MY BROTHERS HAVE CALLED ME INSENSITIVE....DO YOU THINK I AM?

Just because it's your job doesn't mean that you can't be a hero. I think the NY firemen are hero's some of them lost there lives in the WTC. A lot of them were doing incredible stuff like picking up body parts, some of it being there own people.

It made me sick they made a big deal of this year yeah it horrible a lotta people have died and my condolences to them but only 3,000 people most americans have had it easy all there lives what about other countries like palestine where occupation and mass extermnation is a normal thing everyday or iraq where the Us-led embarog has killed 1.5 million Iraqi children or the fact we killed 400,000 japanese civlians when the atomtic bomb droped. The country seem brainwashed with this 9/11 crap no one except on here and in colleges and a few people on the street seem open minded just belving ol GWB and now we may get nuked later on by sadaam for it!. 9/11 also braught out racism and prejudice towards arabs and muslims hell some people still think all afghanis should die even tho afghainstan was ran by arabs. In my town, They had sum Meeting to Honor the Firefighters and Sheriff's and Police and all that shit. In tha Bay Area. That is str8 Stupid. If not one of those individuals were there at the Site helping, then why should they be honored. Personally I couldn't really Give a Damn, unless of course sumone tries to hit the west coast. It happened a year ago, who cares? Everyone needs ot worry about Bush right now, Muthafucka thinks he's so damn powerful.

Why is he a coward? Bush has always been War happy. He's even trying to go to war now, even though we don't have support from the United Nations. Him "needing" to go to war now is moot point. Right on TL. Like Shea said I feel for the people who lost their lives and for the families. But I think that it stinks that peole who had nothing to do w/ it still feel sorry for America as a whole. Especially since other countries have had worse tragedies. I'm not trying to make this into a who- has-it-worse type of thing or anything. The fact that 9/11 happened in the first place sucks. This man on the news said one thing I really agree w/. He said that 9/11 was not the begining of a cycle of violence it was a part of the cycle of violence that began a long time ago w/ the decisions made by American foreign policies.

As to the whole Hero thing, for me that world gets thrown around too lightly. Not saying that the NY firemen and police aren't heros, but hey they were just doing their jobs. But the dead do deserve some respect, at least that is my opinion.

One more thing, there is a awesome article in Newsweek (I know not the best source of news). Nelson Mandela talks about the USA being a threat to world peace. He makes a lot of good points as to why Bush wants to go to ware w/ Iraq. Not that I think the US should or shouldn't go to war, I do not have enough information to make a decision either way. But I do have friends in the military and I don't want their lives on the line just on the whim of a select few.

Well, I know they have a bunch of army people in the airports with big ass machine guns...that's a little something. But I agree with you here. There could be more done to make people feel safer. I was watching this special though where they talked about some of these things and one reason why they say they don't do this is because they believe this will cause fear in people flying. They're afraid that if there is too much security, people won't fly. To little security, people won't fly. Too much security, people won't fly. Hmmm.....
