INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) ― Police say a man shot and killed his 4-year-old son in Inglewood, then fatally turned the gun on himself.
Inglewood police spokesman Lt. Mike McBride says officers responding to a report of an attempted suicide early Monday arrived at a residence and found the man and boy, each with a single bullet wound.
McBride says a preliminary investigation found that the father shot the son and then himself.
Coroner's assistant chief Ed Winter says the man -- 27-year-old Sharome Frazier Sr. -- died at the scene.
Four-year-old Sharome Frazier Jr. was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
