Im using a Mackie Mixer, a Behringer B2 Mic, and I got Cubase for recording. I mean any program can be good, theirs always better programs it just depends on how you have your shit set up, an aight mic and cakewalk set up right sounds better than a nigga with Nuendo 4 and a thousand dollar mic that aint set up right any day.

go to guitar center and buy a M-AUDIO pro tools bundle homie!
(LE 7 is good, there is newer versions but this is perfect for beginner!)
easy to use and very efficient... you can buy one that has EVERYTHANG down to headphones and mic cords......

Yup, guitar center is the best to go, I use protools 8 for the vocals and reason 4 for the beats, and use a bluebird mic, ur sound also depends on your engineer u can have all best studio equipment but if u don't know what u doing then its still going to sound like shit.

yea, i have an AKG and i dont like it i stick with the MXL, it was a waste of 3 bills. I didnt like the sound period. I guess its more for higher tone sounds, cuz its way too wrong, proly set it up wrong. I guess it really depends on how you want your voice to sound

^^^^^ all the professional studios I been to work with pro tools, protools is the best program 2 use. If u ask me, u probably fukd with the cheap 500$ pro tools that comes with the mbox, but like I said I think its up to the engineer's abilities,

We use sonar 6 producer edition. Been using it for years. Alot of albums were recorded using it. It has unlimited tracks so your not limited on what you can do. Get yourself a good interface and sound card. But remember, u get what u pay for. Presonus has some koo ones. I use a bluebird mic. At the time, i paid $500 for it but u can get it now for about $300. But it does pick up alot of feedback. Not recommended if u dont have a booth. Akg makes some koo mics. Dont get the perception. Spend a lil on a mic. Look at reviews on online. Not all vocals sound good on mics. Some sound shitty but make work for others. Cardiod mics are sensitive. But the mic is the most important part of ur studio. Spend more on the mic. Then go for the preamps n compressors and so on. Mixing down the songs is important as well. You dont want to give a poor quality mix. Hit up guitar center. They got all u need. Get a mixing down book too. Trust me. Itll come handy.
