BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) ―
Bakersfield police say a 2-year-old boy has died after being accidentally shot by his 3-year-old sister.

Sgt. Greg Terry says the girl apparently found a .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun under her parents' bed Wednesday afternoon and accidentally shot her brother.

The wounded boy was taken to Kern Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the children's mother was in another area of the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Their father was at work.

The investigation is continuing.

The parents will be in trouble for this. A gun lock or safe is required when you buy a gun,
so there is no excuse for that irresponsibility.

R.I.P. to the boy, and thoughts and prayers to the innocent little girl

WTF is up in Bakersfield.First it was the dad eating his son's eyes and now this.RIP little dude
There is nothing out there, its desert. No one really lives by eachother, everything is pretty secluded. You can just go outside your house and fire rounds, fully auto's and no one will care because they are all gun fanatics. The closest grocery store is about 5 miles away from your home. The cops dont say anything about firing. A bunch of meth labs out there.

That's Bakersfield...half way point to Vegas.

Pretty much it...
