FONTANA, Calif. (AP) ―
Authorities said a 15-year-old driver and two younger boys were killed when they fled a Highway Patrol officer and their car violently crashed through a cinderblock wall and flew onto a house in Fontana after a brief 90 mph chase.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver and front passenger were ejected and died at the scene late last night, while the rear passenger, who had a seat belt on, died at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The San Bernardino County coroner's office said two of the dead have been identified as 15-year-old Devon Keeten and 9-year-old Dylan Green. CHP Officer Joe Ramos said the third boy, seated up front, was 11.
He said Keeten was driving and Green was seated in back.
A CHP officer pulled over the car last night for running a red light, but the driver sped off, losing control and then shattering the wall.
The corner of the house's roof was crushed. Four people in the home were unharmed.
