250 gb

yo i copped a 250 gb a while ago and after installing it now only reads like 232 GB??? whats up with that?? its a 250! dont understand why it would only read 232...i have it as a slave drive and thats what it read when there was nothing on it...where did the 18 GB go?? anyone know the reason for this?? thx yall... :beard:

you DO know that 250GB is only the estimated disk size, right?

theres no hard drive that i know of that comes in the same size as it says on the box....

1 gb = 1024 mb. Manufacturers base their size on a gb = 1000 mb. So you have 250,000 mb and it should be listed at around 244 gb. So you are missing about 12 gb. Depending on your operating system it might have a limit.
