X-rays on Sonny Gray's left thumb have revealed a fracture.
Gray suffered the injury when he was hit by a Prince Fielder comebacker in the fifth inning of Thursday's loss to the Tigers. The right-hander will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine whether there's any additional damage. It's certainly unfortunate, but the break is to his non-throwing thumb and won't affect his availability going into spring training.

What a shitty ass and demoralizing way to end the season. I've been avoiding all A's talk for the past week, shit hurts! Same results as last year, same game, against the same team and pitcher, at home, same everything almost and the A's couldn't pull it off... Fuck. That was their chance for sweet revenge. Next year though boys, next year.... That's all we can say at this point. and fuck all the faggot Giants fans who were talking shit... At the end of the day, the A's are a small market, low budget, cheap owner having, no name player, old outdated dilapidated stadium, not enough fan support.... ball club... The fact that we've been able to to hang in there with clubs with payrolls comprised of hundreds of millions is pretty damn impressive to me... so fuck what any A's hater has to say...
