i used to work for the census and its a pretty easy job, you would either be testing other potential applicants, or collecting census info going door to door. My father worked for the census and i grew up and worked for them, the basic skills quiz is pretty easy and i passed it when I was 12, so most of you should be able to pass it.
Usually if you are a tester, you are given a location (usually a church or rented facility) and you hold testing sessions for about 20 people...takes about 2 hours each run
if your doing the door to door shit, be prepared to work in the shittiest ghetto in your area, going door to door asking questions about who lives there...these guys used to get robbed regularly and would usually quit within a month or two..during the early 90's in hunters point nobody would take the route..the stories I heard were hilarious...who likes strangers knockin on the door asking questions at the dope spot? lol
but the truth is thousand of people apply, 95% pass the test, and only a few are selected because everyone and they mama shows up, no speako engrish? ex-con? smoke crack? illegal immigrant? one leg and a bad heroin habit? 87 years old with taurettes? Come on in....
