A 19-year-old Turlock woman, who police said was having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault Friday, police said. Danette Ashley Peterson was arrested on suspicion of felony oral copulation and digital penetration, along with a misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a juvenile, said Sgt. Nino Amirfar, a Turlock police spokesman.
Peterson was being held at the Stanislaus County Jail on Friday night, and her bail was set at $10,000. The age of the teenage girl was not available Friday night, but Amirfar said the girl is 14 to 17 years old based on the arrest charges. Shortly after 11 a.m., the father of the teenage girl arrived at his Turlock home and found his daughter with Peterson, according to a Turlock police news release.
After an initial investigation, police said they determined Peterson was involved in a sexual relationship with the girl. No further information about the nature of the relationship was available Friday night.
