15 YEARS...WHAT A TRIP!

It's a fuckin' trip when your best friend has been dead for 15 years and you haven't even reached 30 yet.

Today, March 1, marks the 15 year anniversary of my best friend's death. It's always a fucked up day, no matter how hard I try to be positive. Don't drink and drive, don't let your friends drink and drive...it may kill an innocent person like my boy here.

Anyhow, I'm not posting this as a sob story. I just want everybody to tip a cup, pop a bottle, or blow some smoke for your loved ones who are up there with my dude.

R.I.P. Tyrone Kemp...you would have been 28 this year. 15 years and I'm still doing everything in your memory...just like I promised.

Amazingly I never lost a friend to a dui accident. All my friends are huge creeps and have multiple duis. Im considered a bitch for only having one. Lol. Lesbianyayo has 4. Got another friend in prison for 10 years for his 7th. One of my best friends of almost 20 years Hung his self 2 years ago. Shit was fucked up he had 4 kids. We were voted best friends in high-school. Rip Howard

My folks and I were kinda discussing that last night. It's sad to think about what he could have been. I sit and imagine what the world would be like if MLK, Quincy Jones, or Albert Einstein had died when they were 13.

This kid had tremendous talent. Could have done anything he wanted...

Right after he died I said I was going to tat his name on me so he could do everything I do...and that I'd do everything full force so both of us could be successful. I'm a man of my word.

Yup. His woman went out the back door one morning to go to work and found him hanging from a tree in the backyard. Fucked up shit.

RIP to your young homie breh.... I've lost so many of them at this point it is shameful. The ink on my body replicates the love I have for my lost loved ones as well.

My friend of 34 years was San Jose's 10th homicide this year, & all they could do in the news was talk about him just getting out of prison. Not 1 mention of how he would give the shirt off his back for his friends, saved a girl from being raped when we were teens, survived a father who had beaten him to a pulp & deadbolted him in his bedroom for years, the lessons he taught his nephews, the toys he bought for my son.

damn shame.


I know your boy is in a better place, Sydal... keep your head high & stay strong.

I hear you bro. My boy died in Texas so I didn't see any news reports, but all I heard from his family was how his older cousin had him holding his crack and how he got suspended from school the day before he died...and all the "bad" shit he did while he was in San Jose.

Never talked about how good of an athlete he was, how he went to church regularly and sang with the choir, how he wanted a better life for himself than what his parents gave him, how he was raising his little brother and sister, etc. etc.

I think what hurts the most is...the day before his grandma sent him back to Texas, he went to my house and talked to my mom. He told her he was scared to go back because he thought something bad was going to happen if he did. He died about 9 months later. That's some strong shit to come out of a 13 year old's mouth, and the fact that he knew his days were numbered trips me the fuck out.
