they cash out mostly on the average joes that doesnt know much about computers which is a good percentage lol. I would hope its a small percentage of X-box Users or any gaming console user that would go through them just to get your shit setup

Best Buy is over the top with this shit, worked there like 7 years ago. The thing is some poor schmuck probably gets reamed a new one every day for not selling that install package as if it were truly beneficial to every customer.

parents should be smart enough to realize microsoft has a free number to call where peoples entire job is to help you thru that kind of stuff . all those things arent even valid services .. "complete system updates" , u mean the ones that appear as pop ups that require you to press the A button one time , and then its finished ? "advanced wireless networking service" .. right , they even worded this thing as chaotic as possible to scare people into getting it .

people are fucking stupid . i bet best buy got an overwhelming amount of questions asking about the set up and how difficult it is or isnt , or something . and that lead them to have this bright idea . but peep game , if u just fuck with it for like an hour should have it all figured out , but people dont even wanna try that first before calling geek squad because theyre scared . scared that they might hit a wrong button and ruin the console or some dumb shit . this ad is worded to scare those already scared people .

Parents who's lives are centered around their careers and have a lot of disposable income don't exactly have the time to do all of that. Parents (or grandparents) who are buying an xbox for their 6 year old, and don't really know about electronics are also in this boat.

This is a convience thing. Yes it is odd, but it is really geared towards the parents.

I BET THEY WILL SELL A GANG OF THESE PACKAGES

IT'S A GOOD IDEA BUT THAT PRICE IS NOT JUST REDICULOUS, IT'S REALLY SLAPPING THE CUSTOMER IN THE FACE

That is what it boils down to basically. That and you have the parents who let the xbox, playstation, etc raise their kids and they don't want to be bothered with anything else.
