The liver is the only internal human organ capable of natural regeneration of lost tissue

Stop drinking, and you will be ok!!! I would say moderation, but thats road will lead you back to where you started. Its a life change... and your environment is not helping the cause.

figure out WHY it is you need to drink all the time, it will help to actually deal with your problems instead of drinking them away..

but good shit on staying sober, keep it up one day at a time

thats crazy how people get to a certain level where they start having withdrawls. i know me personally i can go months without drinking easily. After highschool i turned into a casual drinker, where i would only really drink during social events or once in a while. but i look back to my friends who i would drink all the time in highschool wit. most of them have no real jobs, have a gut and still drink every single day.

I been sober to. Just drank the past 3 days for christmas. But I don't drink much maybe a couple cups of E n J .. or vodka.then a few beers...
since I quit drinking a couple years ago i have no tolerence.. and anything gets me buzzed.. and drunk..

I just drink on saturday's now..and I don't get to drunk.. just get a nice buzz.. and enjoy the day... keep busy with positive things..
that;s how I was able to quit drinking all the time.. just stay busy doing psoitive things...

but yeah drinking that much everyday for 6 years is crazy.... i only went hard like that... when I was like 21 - 23 .. but even then.. i only drank crazy once in a while..

I was heavy into drinking when I was in high school. I knew alcoholism ran in my family, but it didnt stop me. I drank on good & bad days. The summers back then are a blur to me because the only time i wasnt drunk was at work.

When I reached college, I realized that my problem drinking had to stop. I was failing classes and almost lost my scholarships. It got me into trouble with the law, once again, and was facing 2 yrs in prison. Luckily the court gave me probation.

It got to the point that, no matter how hard I tried to tell myself not to drink, I couldnt last 2 days. I decided it was time for some help so I went to AA and did it for a year.

I was sober from Oct. 15th, 2005 to Oct. 31st, 2009. 4 years. I lost my fiancee last year in a car accident, and I've started drinking again pretty heavily.

Addiction aint nothing to mess with. Stay up x-loc, maybe your sobriety can inspire me a little bit to try to get back on track

^^ Exactly! You're doing well, x-loc. A few nights out are not worth the risk of falling off again. Vegas or no Vegas, keep your health and your daughter in mind.

although the liver does regenerate tissue, what fucks you up as a heavy drinker is the build up of scar tissue. Even with enough healthy tissue scar tissue prevents normal functioning. This is why once a certain point has been crossed and you have cirrhosis there's no going back to normallevels of liver function. But the amount of scar tissue necesary to cause this usually only results from extreemly prolonged-decades-of very heavy drinking.

I don't mean to pry but was drunk driving a factor? On her part or that of the other driver?

If it was your should probably honor her memory by not drinking. Use that as motivation.

Nah man no alcohol involved. We were passengers in a vehicle that hit a patch of black ice and rolled.
