The new Dirty Beaches is dope. Some of the stuff on Drifters is a lot more dancier than anything he's done before, like Night Walk sounds like a haunted club in the eighties.

I was digging how some of the vocals sound like he has his hand on the volume knob and is just quickly turning it up and down. It sounded like some cool lo-fi ingenuity added to the mix.
That new Youth Lagoon sounds how I think Daniel Johnston envisions himself sounding like in his own head. I'm glad I listened to it on my good headphones because the mix plays a lot with space. A big difference from their last release.
