Factory electrical generally wont support legitimate 2000w rms. Youd want at least an upgraded agm and wiring. 2 sundown e 12v3 would be as loud on those 600w amps as the power acoustiks would be on 2k...

What type of vehicle do you have?

I got 2001 buick regal ls.....you serious tho?....is that the whole efficiency thing you were talking about?.....i damn sure wouldn't mind a pair of those

Takes power to make power. If your alt is 110, and your battery is 14v

110a × 14v = 1540w...

So its better to get efficient subs, and use the power you can actually make.

A 2k amp will be about 80% efficient. 2000w/.8% = 2500, 2500/14v = 178a of alternator power needed.

The Sundown Es will get very loud on 600w each, and they are only like 95$ if you get em bstock from car audio bargain

aye so would you say that those sundowns are underrated as far as the rms rating goes. would they be able to take 600w rms safely even tho they are rated at 500?

and im checking out site right now.... can you send me a link to that deal?

Today oh Today, Slapped 2 12's and a 1000 watt amp in the trunk

Another 8.1 on the rictor scale

A Memphis Mono Block And 2 P3's

Edit: Folley Up, The Homie Who Sold It To Me Said It Was 1000 Watt Amp Must Of Meant The Peak Because The Side Said 500.... But It Was The Same Size As My Old Memphis 1000.1 So I Didn't Think A Thing When I Bought It. But At 150$ For The Whole Bundle Box Subs And Amp It Was A Good Deal.

I'm Thinking About Finding A Good 1200 Watt Amp For The P3's And Throwing That 500.1 On My D6 12" Diamond Audio And Keeping It As A Spare.

Annnd....another first today. But was a brutal show. My agm battery failed on me, and i might have lost a voice coil.

Since those videos ive posted, im running double the power...still on 12s. On 6.5k at 0.5ohm

Right now im using a Populous 6.5k which is the same amp as a Sundown ns1v1.... any sub is technically reconeable, but it might not be financially viable on cheap subs. If a sub is 100$, but recone is 75....thats not really worth it. If a sub is 800$, and recone is 100$, that is worth it...the dude wno built my subs has more for me to use while he recones these ones

sounds good.....the reason i asked is because the subs i have supposedly have no re-cone kit available for them Cadence S2W12D4.V2 1200W 12" S2 Series Dual 4-ohm Car Subwoofer

that fixes a sub being blown right? i see what you sayin about it not bein worth it tho.

Ya thats a 2" coil. General rule of thumb is that 2" coils are "throwaway" subs. Its getting to the point that ppl wont bother with 2.5" recones either. Our society is such that many products are replaceable rather than repairable.

Got That 1200 installed but thinking I have a dead cell in my battery going to pick one up today. Anybody can back me up that could what is causing the trip light to flicker? Did a check on the alternator, ground, connections, & RCA's already - this is it before I take it to a professional.
