He always got teased about his weight, I don't think lack of fat shaming was the issue here. Dude wasn't an idiot, he knew being fat and eating poorly is bad and could lead to an early death and all sorts of health problems. But most people don't think it will happen to them that soon, at only age 45. I'm almost positive he had some sort of pre-existing heart condition or something on top of being fat, and of course his unhealthy lifestyle made it far worse.

It's a complicated issue though, how to deal with obesity in this country. Some people get into a cycle- they feel bad about their weight, get made fun of, feel worse, they feel worthless, etc., only to eat more because that's how they learned to deal with their problems and/or depression, So for some people fat shaming is only going to make it worse for them. Whole other people, you're right, they need brutal honesty. Everyone is different.

Really though it has to start at home and with Education. Parents need to teach their kids about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and lead by example. Lot of kids learn terrible habits from their parents and family, I'm sure a lot of people here on the sicc had parents who were terrible in this regard. Schools aren't really teaching kids shit either when it comes to a healthy lifestyle, especially not while serving pizza and junk food for lunch.

It's a problem with our society, obviously, being that we are the fattest country on Earth. People may say they don't care and it's not their problem, but it is, we all end up paying for it through taxes going into the medical system as a result of obesity.

Big Black was in the Navy, so you'd assume he learned some discipline, but he was a Chef in the Navy and was overweight back then too, and was as a child so I seems he's struggled with his weight his entire life.

Right now I'm 280 and a fatass. I eat like a straight up vacuum sometimes, inhaling food to be this size. I couldn't imagine what somebody would have to do to themselves everyday to hit 400+. That shit is crazy.
You just answered your own question.

Do you live an active lifestyle?

If you don't, judging by what you typed if you keep it up by next year you'll be at 340.

Butcher sums it up best

Jesus christ man 5'7 336 "range" what does that even mean? Are you so fucking fat that your scale has to guess your weight or something? Theres overweight, then there's morbidly obese, then there's you, you goddamned fat fuck. A healthy weight for 5'7 159-118 lbs. Just let that sink in. If you lost 50% of yourself seriously if you were split in half you'd still be fat. How the fuck did you get that big do you have any self respect at all? You need more than dieting dude you need bariatric surgery and a straight jacket to keep yourself from shoveling food into yourself. Fuck you man
