OK...and? The fuck does this have to do with...anything? Is it some super secret that refugees come to this country and receive help? Thats the idea...they are fleeing a country that is unstable, and the US is helping them. Just like it is intended.

Sure. It has fuck all to do with what is being discussed. Anything else?

Ya, that's a terrible argument against refugees. If you think they shouldn't be allowed to come here that's one thing but pointing out they are on welfare and receive food stamps is just stating the obvious. They come here with literally the clothes on their backs.

I would bet money that the percentage of American citizens that abuse the welfare system is way higher than the percentage of refugees that abuse it. It's probably not even close.

maybe so. I know of some who abuse the system and pass along the good word to their family and friends back home. Land of the "free" bruddah! lol they don't speak for all refugees tho. I also know some americans who refuse to get married to keep they section 8 and ebt.
but thats really besides the point. trump doing this to make America more "safer," has nothing to do with welfare. I think he would have gotten a bit of a pass if this was well thought out with plenty of advance notice so our foreign brothas and sistas have time to prepare. how about consult with the attorney general? typical corporate ceo mentality, makes decisions and the people under him gotta deal with the shit storm.

It's probably part of his strategy. He does shit like this that freaks everyone out and everyone's going crazy about how it's such an outrage while he's been quietly sacking the entire state department.

The seniormost staff of the Department of State. Blue X’s are unfilled positions; red X’s are positions which were purged. Note that the “filled” positions are not actually confirmed yet. This has an important and likely not accidental effect: it leaves the State Department entirely unstaffed during these critical first weeks, when orders like the Muslim ban (which they would normally resist) are coming down.

It's almost like a coup

Well, I guess there's going to be people of all backgrounds that abuse any system that involves handouts. I think most reasonable people on both sides of the political spectrum would agree that the welfare/food stamp system definitely needs more oversight and accountability. It just pisses me off when conservatives act like liberals are the only people that use or abuse the system because there's clearly plenty of right-wing voting free-loaders too.

I am open to the idea of severely limiting the immigrants that can come here but as you said this was not well thought out and is probably just one of many rash decisions we will see over the next 4 years. If this was really about keeping us safe the first countries on this block list should have been the countries the 9/11 hijackers were from. Instead of making us safer it essentially discriminated against people who are here legally. People who, ironically, may pay more to this country in taxes than Trump himself.

My Master Say's This
Matthew 7:15-20 ESV

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ...
2 can play that game.

Matthew 6:9-15King James Version (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

5 “Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. 7 When you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 So pray this way:

Now, looking at the glass half full, this guy, after all, may be the best thing that ever happened to us. If this (him as POTUS) doesn't wake people up nothing will. He may after all be the true measure of seeing who is really on what side- the side of the people or the side of the state.

I don't dislike refugee people. I have empathy for them and I understand that their coutries are war torn shit holes, mostly the fault of the USA. I understand that as a rich nation we have some humanitarian duty to help out. Don't say we're not a rich nation, even retards are fat. Life is good in the USA.

To me tho it doesn't make sense to bring them across the world to the USA. Most, if not all, do not know English and do not plan on learning it. They mostly believe in a culture that is not compatible with the USA. They offer nothing at all to us as a country. In fact they are almost all sucking up our tax dollars for handouts. I am not blaming the refugees. I am pointing the very obvious flaws in the idea of relocating them here. They will mostly not fit in, mostly not adapt to American culture and mostly never produce anything for the country. If you look at Europe where the flood gates have been opened you will see what I am saying.
I am in favor of building them safe zones in their home country so the cultural differences won't hold them back and they will be safe in their own countries. Even then we are footing the bill.
How come countries like Saudia Arabia Qatar and Dubai don't offer to take any refugees in? They're neighbors. And they're rich as fuck. Anyone care to answer that question?

I read yesterday Trump talked with the Saudi King and alledgedly they're gonna work with us to help set up safe zones.
From what I've read the travel ban is favored by the majority of Americans. Google the polls if you think I'm wrong.
The travel ban was implemented abruptly on purpose. The idea is not to give the "bad guys" any warning. Makes sense to me. Most people who were caught in limbo were detained just a few hours. It's not ideal but it's also not a big deal either. I'm sure most of us have had travel delays. Shit happens.
Also I think the executive order Trump signed was drafted by the Obama administration to begin with. Obama imposed a travel ban on Iraqis in like 2011 or 2010 for six months. Trumps ban is only 3-4 months, I think. I also think he's trying to buy time to put together a better vetting process. I don't have a problem with it.

It may appear that way, but I truly don't see it as the case. I have met some really great people at the colleges here who are not American citizens. These people are going to be working professionals. It would be foolish for the US, as a country, to waste minds of people looking for and wanting "better." I understand you have people that never plan on making something of themselves. Hell, this country is full of them that happened to be born here (some of those people will make nothing of themselves as to no fault of their own, but many will have opportunity and fail to capitalize). The US only has one real culture of this land and that is of the American Indian- and the US does nothing to honor and ensure that culture is at the forefront. Instead, the US culture is manufactured packaged and sold like "American" cheese. It would be a grave mistake to strip people of their true cultures, in order to live here. Me and my family have been stripped of ours, why would I think thats acceptable to do to someone else?

Almost nothing...thats exactly what it is. This is his "drain the swamp" mantra coming to life. The problem is, no one asked him how he would fill it back up again. Well, here you are. And his supporters dont give a shit.

It just shows the fear that the media has raised fears to crazy fears. You are more likely to die in a car crash, than get blown up by a terrorist. By 1000000 fold. But no one is ditching their cars.

I couldn't imagine people telling Cambodians who fled the genocide by the khmer rouge that they wouldn't be able to fit in and that we need to create safe zones for them in or around their country while a genocide is occurring, which is essentially what is happening. Almost none of those thousands of Cambodians spoke any English.Refugees adapt and become part of society, just like they always have throughout our history, it makes no difference where they are from ultimately they are happy to escape the brutality and go on to become productive members of society. That doesn't happen over night, it takes time, definitely more than a few months.

That isn't to say we need to take all of them or that the rich middle Eastern countries shouldn't take more of the burden; they absolutely should. But at the same time these are people escaping unimaginable horrors and a little fucking compassion is necessary rather than vilifying them because they are Muslim. It's a sick mentality.
