Who we playing this week
Tampa is a weird team.

Got stomped by AZ 40-7.
Got stomped by the Broncos 27-7.
Lose to the Rams 37-32.
Lose to the Raiders and Atlanta.
March into Kansas City and beat the Chiefs 19-17.

Up and down team. Won 4 out of last 6 games. I have no idea what to expect Winston and co, he seems either hot or cold and not much in-between. Little worried about the injuries, if Earl and Shead are both out that could hurt a bit...or a lot. Still expect a win regardless. But it does feel a bit like a trap game - after coming off hige wins over the Patriots and the Eagles then habe to play the Bucs in Tampa.

Also they have scored 30+ points four times...and scored less than 20 four times.

A trap game is a game where you look past an opponent to your next opponent. I dont think the Hawks are that type of team. PC preaches every game one at a time. But who knows...maybe they are looking forward to Carolina...

I always thought the term meant when a team is heavily favored or consider the far superior team, either before, after or in-between tougher opponents, so they may take the opponent lightly.

Regardless, you're right about this team and what they practice & preach - one week at a time, going 1-0, etc. so it shouldn't matter about these types of games. Still, on some level they have to be very happy and proud for going on the road and defeating the Patriots and feeling good about themselves, that was huge, and then again beating a good Eagles team, especially their #1 defense.

If the panthers were on the road I'd be worried about them a bit but since it's in Seattle (finally!) they should be alright. It is a prime time game iirc. Panthers are obviously way more talented then their record indicates and they've won three of their last four, so they are another team you don't really know what to expect. They could come out guns blazing or completely flat. But at home I'm not worried. Talk about super bowl losers curse, went from #1 team in the NFC to 4-6 and last place in their division.

Today I am thankful that after years, no, decades of heart ache and dispare the hawks have rewarded us with the team we have had the past 5 years. All those years of shit ball in the kingdome. Half capacity at best. #thanku
There were some good moments at the kingdom and they were selling out games for a long while. But yeah, there were some real dark ages indeed! I remember when I first moved here, being in a football family and then getting exposed to Dave Krieg's backwards passes and Norm Johnson's missed chip shot FGs. They were pathetic for a number of years, really until Holmgren came and changed the mentality. Even then though, they had John Kitna at first and I remember Holmgren's very first play as a Seahawks coach, some trick play he thought would really set the tone and show everyone how awesome is, which of course resulted in disaster, an interception or fumble, can't remember exactly but it was awful. They've come such a long way.
