That Lakers team were a season removed from winning 3 rings in a row and then added one of the greatest power forwards and one of the greatest point guards of all time on top of it lol

Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton don't compare? lol They literally walked into the NBA Finals with ease.
wasnt that the same year Kobe had the rape case too?

Malone and Payton were like 45 years old lol couple old dudes that wanted a ring, everyone on the Warriors and Durant are prime and they just had a record breaking regular season.

Don't get me wrong, Warriors aren't the first super team and won't be the last, I got nothing against the team myself, I'm just not a fan of the super team era NBA, there is a huge imbalance of great vs shitty teams. It's like a couple Harlem Globetrotters and a bunch of Washington Generals. But I've had a number of beefs with the NBA for years now, not just the Sonics leaving just the direction the sport has gone, rule changes, etc. My issue is much more with the NBA product, I have no issue with the Warriors as a team, they haven't done anything wrong here at all, just to be clear.

Hope that ain't an excuse for them losing in the Finals. Kobe still put up the same type of numbers and the Lakers still easily made it to the finals.
not at all. its actually surprising they made it that far.
Kobe was beefing with Shaq, Malone and Phil and they still managed to get to the finals.

Payton was still prime and Malone was still a top PF in the league and putting up 22 points and 8 rebounds a game when he signed with the Lakers. Payton was only 34 at the time lol
That's not his prime what r u talking about?? He was 35 years old in LA and still good but definitely not in his prime. He was in his prime obviously in Seattle when he was younger, especially the runs they had in particular 95-96.

Both Payton and Malone were old and both signed one year deals to get a ring. You're not going to convince me these were two guys in their primes lol especially since I followed both of their careers growing up. Durant is 27 and in his prime.

I'm loving all the hate coming from Lebron fans stemming from this move. Problem for Golden State is that Lebron has alot of pull in the league and can form a super team of his own in Cleveland next year when the new CBA comes into play and theres even more money out there. Itr'l be the Curry, KD, and Lebron show in the finals for the next 4-5 years, the rest of the league is gonna be even more imbalanced.

Payton was still in his prime and Malone was still putting up numbers. I can take 5 seconds and pull up the stats lol

I never said Malone was in his prime, but tell me 21 points and 8 boards a game in his last year in Utah wasn't still elite.

Maybe you have a different definition of prime? You're telling me 35 year old Gary Payton was exactly the same as he was when he was younger on the Sonics? Prime = peak of your athletic career.

Any Sonics fan can tell you Payton definitely had lost a step or two at age 35. Doesn't mean he wasn't still a good player, just means he was no longer in his prime.

F @Fucky McFuckerson was Payton in his prime at age 35 lol

He literally put up the same exact numbers in his last year in Seattle as he did in 94-95 lol

His last 4 years in Seattle were the best stats he put up in his entire career. What does his age have to do with it?

Was Jordan still in his prime at age 35 in his last year with the Bulls? Pretty sure he was lol

Uuhhhhh no. Payton was NOT in his prime. 34 is not prime age for any athlete ever....its between 26 and 29. GP was on the down slope of his career and so was Malone. He may have averaged 20 points the year prior, but only 13 when withthe Lakers and was visibly a slower old dude on the floor.

Your comparing a team of oldies with a team where the core average age of the big 4 is 27 years old. In other words, the prime/approaching the prime of their careers. Not even remotely the same.

Yet somehow age 30-34 he put up the best numbers in his career.

With the Lakers he played more of a traditional point guard feeding the ball to Kobe and Shaq, of course his points per game went down lol come on man

No but Jordan was Jordan...cmon now. We are talking about the best bball player in the history of the PLANET, vs one of the best PG's in the 90's. Thats a huge difference.

Not even about the points pimp. I watched him play with the Lakers...he was NOT the same dude that played for Seattle. He ws visibly slower and his defense was not as lock down as it once was.

You can argue until youre blue in the face, but prime age for any athlete is pre-30. #FACTS
