Negative Butcher returns!

Calm down dude, I don't think we'll have a time traveling ending. Since it's a closed loop and the events already happened Bran changed nothing.
lol Thanks... I dunno my friend was texting me last night talking about the theories out there right now and it really truly irked me. It reminds me of the Stephen King Dark Tower series almost, but at least King had the guts to admit he couldn't finish it, and he was basically just caving in to the fans to give the only ending he thought he could write for it. Let's just say there are similarities with these two series and I really don't want to go through this again... this time would be much worse however as I didn't wait several years for the Dark Tower payoff.

Wait.. lol I think I brought this up before and we disagreed with the ending of the Dark Tower series... I still maintain that it was pretty terrible for the most part.

There are a ton of retarded theories out there and you just have to remind yourself what they are - theories that are retarded.

Like the current one I see is Bran is literally every Bran Stark that lived lol. Fucking retards. The founder of house stark was named Bran so naturally that's going to be a popular house name. Their proof? Old Nan telling current young Bran a story and she's going senile so she sometimes confuses him with past brans that she raised, so they're like, see! She knows they are all him! Pfffft, idiots.

Also, everyone is a secret Targaryen and my favorite, The High Sparrow is Howland Reed. They think they are all mind blowing theories and their super smart for coming up with this bullshit lol but to me they just look stupid. Like, why the fuck would Howland Reed be the high sparrow?! What part of crannogmen, who were close to The Children and descendants of the first men, with a history of green seeing and all that, would lead anyone to believe any of them, let alone Howland Reed, would suddenly take up the seven and become a priest? lol

Had to take a break from the show after my mind exploded with the Jon Snow resurrection fan service.

That time travel shit is bullshit. We will see where they go with it but the odds aren't in their favor that it is going to be something good.

If Bran can go back in time or to a parallel universe and influence the current time and/or universe, then whats the point of the whole show? For fucks sake go back in time and fix everything, it's too easy.

The only way this show gets salvaged from it's original glory is if Ramsay lays waste to Sansa and Jon and the White Walkers walk into King's Landing and butt fuck everyone with ice breathing dragons.

Oh yes please someone kill Bran's stupid ass. I can't stand characters that drive a plot based on their stupidity. It's like the quintessential horror film; being chased by a a murder, but wait I must open this cellar door and see whats down there before I jump in this fully gassed up car and easily escape, oh no that didn't end well, whoops, I think I'll do something similar 3 to 4 times over the next 1.5 hours.

lol I'm sure you accurately predicted the entire Hodor event years ago, yeah? Fucking hipsters, man
after last warg scene when they made a point to show he already had the scar its not hard to conclude bran is gonna have something to do with him being hodor

edi: + they showed when bran called out to ned in the tower of joy scene he heard him & blood raven got spooked, this was already seeded if you paid attention

plot devices, how do they work?

No shit, everyone saw that and discussed it. That in no way could cause one to think "oh, it's so clear now. Bran will Warg into past Hodor/present Hodor at the same timing causing young Hodors brain to fry, hold the door, so obvious!" What we all figured is that bran can somehow be seen/heard or possibly even affect the past, but no one could know what or how would happen. If so we would have seen tons of fan theories accurately predicting, but no one did. The only stuff we saw were people saying shit like "bran probably is responsible for the mad king going crazy, it's bran voice he hears in his head" etc, no one linked hodor = hold the door = bran warging while in a green dream lol

But I don't think he can fix anything. The events already happened, it's a paradox.

I think we all knew Bran would have a massive role, if not the most important role of all since he started green seeing. It's been building up to this for so long. I think it was out of site out of mind since they didn't cover his storyline last season. Eventually he'll understand his role, most all the characters start out stupid/naive - dany was some young girl getting pushed into whatever direction by her brother/advisors until she slowly started turning into a woman, Sansa being a dumb girl that wanted nothing more than to be a princess evolving into a hardened woman, Arya's long journey into becoming an assassin, Jon Snow knowing nothing, et al. Character progression. Bran will get there too.

This was supposed to be different than the other fantasy garbage, what was it, The Wheel of Time? It was supposed to be a mature complex political world with a fantasy tinge and based from real history. Add in time traveling to GoT you are basically throwing that away as meaningless and what's left? Wheel of Time with child porn and incest thousands of pages of rape and graphic sex and brutal violence and crude talk and descriptions of meat stews and meat juices running down beards and a bunch of political bullshit and literally HUNDREDS of unnecessary characters that was just an enormous waste of time

GRRM is nothing but a fat disgusting neckbeard slob and a degenerate if that's the case
What I take from this is that you have not read Wheel of Time.

Wheel of Time was basically pure epic fantasy. It has the scope of Game of Thrones, but not the tone. It's way more lighthearted, has more clear delineations between good and evil, and outside of the Daes Daemar, doesn't have all that much political intrigue. Its the story of three farmboys who realize they have special abilities and try to fight a dark lord. Game of Thrones is the story of noble houses in the midst of a civil war.

Game of Thrones is more like historical fiction with some elements of fantasy thrown into it. Most notably a grimdark style with very little magic.

I agree GRRM is a slob degenerate neckbeard piece of shit who probably didn't plot this out. I'd compare it more to Lost than anything else. But Wheel of Time, in the end, was a fantasy classic.

^^^yeah that's what I was thinking that the Umbers have a double crossing planned. Smalljon Umber didn't technically swear any oaths to Ramsey, so makes sense (I think we discussed this in this thread at the time iirc).

Littlefinger and what he's planning is what can/will throw a wrench into the plan. It's kinda uncharted territory since he mentioned the Blackfish but the show skipped over the Riverruns entirely, so in the books he's currently MIA but on the show who knows.

So in other words you don't have all this quite worked out in your head even now, and yet you saw it coming a mile away lol.

Regardless, the writers talked about this a bit in that it was a mind blowing moment for them when GRRM explained it to them, so that's their source. Of course, the book when it comes out will explain everything much clearer since its a book and not something easily shown on film.

I had to double check and look this up before I paraphrased anything incorrectly but this is something The Three Eyed Crow/Bloodraven/Lord Brynden Rivers said to Bran in the books so this is why I'm confident "it's a closed loop" and bran simply cant go back and fix things:

Brynden teaches Bran about greenseeing and skinchanging.[7] He later decides it is time for Bran to take the next step and has Leaf give Bran a bowl of weirwood paste, made from seeds of weirwood, to eat in order to awaken his greenseer gifts. When Bran sees his father, Eddard, through Winterfell's heart tree, Brynden tells Bran that he is haunted by his own ghosts, a brother that he loved, a brother that he hated, and a woman that he desired, but he knows from experience that you cannot change the past.
