Steelers fans would have been no different if the tables were turned. It really was the worst officiating in super bowl history, or at least in recent memory. Now, it needs to be said that in itself doesn't mean Seahawks would have won the game, what we were mad about was not having a fair shot at winning. Who knows what the game would have looked like; maybe the Steelers whoop their ass, maybe Seahawks win big, maybe it's a nail biter that goes down to the final drive, the point is we as fans were robbed of seeing the super bowl unfold in a natural and fair way. Also needs to be said that this doesn't imply the game was rigged or that the refs were biased towards the Steelers, it simply means they did an extremely poor job officiating the game and the Seahawks got the short end of the stick. It's unfortunate and these things happen all the time in the NFL, only here it was obviously magnified being that it was the super bowl and the Seahawks had never won a super bowl before. Now that we have a ring it doesn't sting nearly as bad as it did back then.

I give you a pass because you are levelheaded and get that the refs fucked up, but for every one of you there were about 100 other folks ready to murder every Steelers fan in sight. The whole shit just left a bad taste in my mouth. Either way, it's 10 years later and we're both 1-1 in Super Bowls since then.

It is what it is. The NFL seems to have all these layers of conflicting rules and on top of that officiating standards are different game to game. For example the "making a football move" rules that went against us 3 times this year and once for us i think. Then sometimes our dudes are walking an extremely fine line between illegal contact and pass interference and the refs let ppl play sometimes theres 2 dozen flags for the same shit. So really there's this element of "is the game going to get completely fucked off by the dumbass refs FOR us or AGAINST us this Sunday." I've definitely come to expect this sort of thing since I started casually following the Football and NFL and the local home town team of "The Seattle Seahawks" way back in 2013.
The Darrell Bevell superbowl ruining passing at the goal-line asshattery is what it is too. It doesn't really matter much, because this team doesn't show any evidence of regression, so we still got another possible opportunity to look forward to if the players feel like it.

Everyone wanted to see Kearse get a good contract even if that meant elsewhere, it's his one shot to make some good money so most of us wanted to see him go since the Seahawks just can't pay a guy like him more than he's worth. He's been clutch in key moments but his overall body of work throughout the seasons is usually pretty average, plus with Locket becoming the receiver that he is Kearse would be a clear #3 WR and you can't overpay for a #3 guy. I hope he does well wherever he goes, hopefully the AFC.
So glad they got Ruben, I was worried he would test the waters and get offered a better deal. He's a bit underrated for what he does.
Also hearing they are trying to get a deal done with Okung like today or tomorrow. Which makes sense the more I think about it since where the fuck else are they gonna get a left tackle? Injury prone or not he's the best option, hopefully he's not asking for too much.
Curious to see what they do with Bennett. I think they have to throw him some extra money since he was the best player on that defense last year imo.
Irvin going was expected. He's a weird case in that sometimes he has these unbelievably good games but then he'll disappear for a few games stretch where he just isn't a factor at all. Maybe he fits better in Oakland idk

In 2014, the Seahawks released defensive end Chris Clemons and he made his way to Jacksonville.
In 2016, the reverse could happen. Albert Breer of NFL Media reports that Clemons will visit with the Seahawks after being released by the Jaguars last week.
Clemons spent four years with the Seahawks after being acquired in a 2010 trade with the Eagles and had at least 11 sacks in each of his first three seasons with the team. He dropped to 4.5 sacks in 2013 as part of a deep and talented line that helped the Seahawks to the first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
That line remains a deep one with Ahtyba Rubin already re-signing with the team and Brandon Mebane’s return still a possibility with free agency opening on Wednesday afternoon. They are expected to lose linebacker Bruce Irvin to the Raiders from the front seven.

Seahawks receiver Jermaine Kearse said just before the start of free agency that he didn’t plan to stay in Seattle. But sometimes plans change.
Kearse and the Seahawks have agreed to a three-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
As a native of Lakewood, Washington, who played his college football at Washington, it only makes sense for Kearse and the Seahawks to find a way to make it work, and now they have. It’s unclear what transpired in the last couple of days to get the surprising move done, but it keeps Kearse in the only place he’s called home.
Last season Kearse started all 16 games and had career highs in catches (49), yards (685) and touchdowns (five).
