scavenging station. That's what I couldn't remember. Build one of those and assign someone to it and u get random extra junk and caps.

If anyone wants to set up a supply line between your settlements, which is easy to do, it shares your resources between settlements.

Go to a settlement, enter workshop mode, select a settler and then select Supply Line, then select the settlement you want the line to. This settler now walks a path connecting the two settlements.

The way it works is the settlements piggyback off eachother, so you don't want or can't have a supply line from all your settlements going straight to Sanctuary Hills, rather they all need to be connected together so you have Settlement A in a line to Sanctuary Hills, then Settlement B is in a line to A, and C to B and so on. When you're looking at your map in your Pip boy, you can view your supply line. This way you can see which settlement connects to where.

So here is an example of starting a supply line:

And here is another with more settlements, although this persons line is kind of retarded but you get the idea:

You need to have the LOCAL LEADER perk under charisma in order to unlock the supply line, I'm pretty sure.

Here is mine from a few days ago, I had to take two pictures since you cant zoom out fully, but I think my supply line makes a little more sense compared to the example I posted above:

I really need to start doing some main quests. Played for like three hours yesterday and I have no idea what I even accomplished. I don't give a shit about Shaun, I'm a terrible father.

Fucking Cait of all people rejected my romance advances three times now! After she just gets done telling me she has feelings for me lol wtf. I banged Piper and the French bitch, no problem. The junkie Cait who has a fucked up past and terrible life with questionable morals? Nah. Even after I helped her out. We shared Jet together Cait, we got high together so many times, killed so many people and laughed about it! Why won't you love me bitch?! I can't take any more rejection, about to send her ass to farm duty at a remote settlement, cunt.

U don't really need a home, just a bed for banging companions, a locker for your guns and clothes some water food turrets and ur good. Building large settlements is mainly for personal enjoyment if ur into that, although it probably pays off to build them up a bit and have lots of settlers working on shit for u to sell/craft shit.

I have like a dozen or so settlements. Every time a get a new one I create a supply line and a radio tower to attract more people then end up spending all this time beefing up the place even though I don't really need to. I gotta stop doing that and stick to actual missions!

There is one tiny settlement that I totally forgot about. Its so small and cramped in a city location. I go there again after completing forgetting about, there are 17 people there all crammed in this tiny place with only two beds lol everyone is asking me "got something for me to do?" "Got something for me to do?" "Hi I'm new here, got something for me to do?" lol I can't even walk though the place there are so many bodies occupying space. Got the fuck out of there hopefully some raiders come and take them out.

I've done barely any quests but got four places with 10+ ppl each and 100+ defense, with about 4-6 advanced water purifiers each. i basically got stuck in this loop where i go to my biggest places collect all the water, then go trade like 400-600 purified waters at diamond city for expensive components. Then ill build up a new settlement all at once. Start it with water and a radio tower and 24 beds right off the bat. Then get 4ppl farming 24 total food, and get like 5-10 ppl working at scavenging stations.

My shits some brutal settlements if there's no body of water for advanced purifiers lol... No water means sleeping bags tightly packed in metal shacks, usually one choice of food, a buncha cheap ground pumps, and like 10 cheap turrets and im gone. If there's plenty of water ill do my best to wall everything off, use real beds, space everything nice, have a variety of crops, and set up a defense that looks nice and is more efficient

Anyway im stuck in a loop where im constantly getting water and selling and buying im level 24 and i swear probably 20 of those levels came from just settlement building and trading lol.

My main sanctuary place is dope i got like 100+ mutfruit, corn, and tato plants so when im low on adhesive i harvest it all, make like 40 vegetable starches, then it breaks down into 200 adhesives it used to be great money but now my jew senses get to tingling once i figured out purified water is basically unlimited money FAST once you get it going
