HERESY @HERESY I agree with you on the Cotto vs Martinez fight because that's what I said but everyone here picked Martinez. Besides, Canelo already said when the "time is right" he will fight GGG. So what I said is more than likely to happen. HBO wants GGG to get a ppv fight and it will happen first with Ward before Canelo. Why does that sound retarded to you?

Alvarez-Kirkland Most Viewed Cable Bout Since 2006

By Jake Donovan

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez enjoyed a triumphant return to HBO in every conceivable way. The 24-year old former 154 lb. titlist registered what presently serves as the leading contender for Knockout of the Year after flattening James Kirkland in the third round of their May 9 meet at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

The bout was Alvarez' first fight back on HBO following a nearly three-year hiatus. Absence truly made the heart grow fonder among HBO subscribers, as the live main event drew a staggering 2.146 million viewers, peaking at just under 2.3 million viewers, according to N?Nielsen Media Research.

You aren't getting it. battle. Let me quote myself.

Battle, the shit you say is beyond retarded. How old was Floyd when he dismantled Canelo? Are you forgetting the fact that GGG hasn't had a lot of damage to his body because he is knocking people out? So, in reality, we can say Floyd had more wear and tear on his body. In addition, we can argue that Canelo has more wear and tear on his body than GGG as he has gone the distance quite a few times.
No one is saying they won't fight one year from now, two years from now, at a catchweight, etc. What is being disputed is the wear and tear you claim will be on GGG's body. That's what we're talking about, battle.

For those wondering, the Floyd Pac replay peaked at 1.58 million. So even more tuned in for the main event. Usually it's the other way around, a slight drop off from a big PPV replay. Pretty cool.
the replay was automatic for HBO subscribers as it came on right before the Canelo Kirkland fight. I don't know if SHO is showing it yet and I have SHO (both channels actually.)

^^^And no one cared about what happened on Sho. HERESY @HERESY are you a 35-36 year old that will eventually move up in weight then go back down in weight and further more lose more weight than usual? That would be the position GGG would be in and that's what Canelo wants. I said that way before you spoke on your quote but yes I understand what you are saying. I just don't like how people overlook the training aspect of what a fighter goes through. Even a young Canelo said it was hard for him to lose those extra 2 lbs that everyone here said it was no big deal. Luckily he is young enough to recover from that

Battle, I'm not a boxer so my body is not conditioned for that type of shock and trauma. Some boxers are able to and, some can't but you're still missing the point.

Yes, it may be hard to lose the weight just like it's hard to gain weight. Unfortunately, if you're like me it's hard to gain (when I was younger) and hard to lose (now that I'm older.) But still, GGG hasn't taken a lot of wear and tear in the ring nor does he have problems with making weight as the guy is pretty much always in shape. Now will I give the advantage to the younger fight? In this case no. Floyd had the guy by what? Ten years?

But then you have to factor in their walking around weight. So again, some people can handle weight loss while others can't. But Canelo is a big boy and might still be growing so we'll see what's up.

Although GGG is not really showing any wear and tear at this particular moment, he is not immune to getting rocked by big shots either. He's getting older and he won't be able to dodge shots like Mayweather does to further enable him a relatively unscathed long lasting career. There will be a war sooner or later where it will eventually take a toll on him.

I'm not sure how it works. I know the replay rights was a huge deal in the negotiations and only got done days before the fight, HBO may have won rights or at least won rights to show it first.

My pops got Showtime for free three months for ordering the PPV.

I believe you're mistaken. We would have heard what their ratings were as well by now.
Are you serious?? Do you wanna put money on it?? I watched it Saturday night on Showtime so I could see the Mayweather interview afterwards that only aired on Showtime. The HBO edition only showed the fight and than moved to the Canelo fight. I watched both trust or we can bet if you like. Got Em!!

Final Presser

I'm predicting Monroe gives GGG some problems and makes him look human. Might even go thr distance and end his KO streak. Expect a full force of GGG haters coming out with the "Golovkin is overrated, he's a bum!" comments.

Monroe is a solid fighter, he's a boxer, a southpaw, kid has skills. His style will trouble GGG. But thats good, maybe this will allow other fighters to grow some balls and FIGHT GGG after.
