Bitch Ass Eagles to sign Walter Thurmond

The bitch ass Philadelphia Eagles reached agreement on a one-year contract with former Giants and Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond, the team announced Wednesday.

Thurmond becomes the 10th former Oregon Ducks player brought into the bitch ass Eagles' fold by coach Chip Kelly, who was Oregon's head coach from 2009 to 2012. Thurmond will pair up with free-agent cornerback Byron Maxwell, who signed a six-year contract worth as much as $63 million (with $25 million guaranteed) to leave the Seahawks.

Thurmond and Maxwell were teammates in Seattle before Thurmond signed a one-year contract with the Giants last offseason.

The bitch ass Eagles also officially announced that quarterback Mark Sanchez had re-signed with the team on a two-year deal. On Tuesday, the bitch ass Eagles traded for quarterback Sam Bradford in a deal with the Rams that sent quarterback Nick Foles to St. Louis.

Thurmond was a key part of the Seahawks' 2013 team that won Super Bowl XLVIII. Last offseason, he said he had multiyear offers from several teams, including the Giants, but wanted to take a one-year deal in order to prove himself away from Seattle and try to cash in this offseason.

Unfortunately for Thurmond, those plans were derailed when he tore a pectoral muscle in Week 2 and missed the final 14 games of the season. The Giants had signed him to be their nickel cornerback and believed he also could contribute on the outside if one of their starting outside corners -- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie or Prince Amukamara -- were to miss time due to injury.

Thurmond, who turns 28 in August, was a fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2010. He played the first four seasons of his career in Seattle.

Ryan Mathews agrees to terms with the bitch ass Eagles

Reports on Wednesday morning had free agent running back Ryan Mathews traveling to Philadelphia to meet with the bitch ass Eagles, but things have progressed beyond that.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Mathews has agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the bitch ass Eagles, who traded running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo last week as one of the highlights of what’s already been a busy offseason. Schefter reports it is an $11.5 million deal with $5 million guaranteed.

Mathews, No. 47 on PFT’s list of the top free agents, was a first-round pick of the Chargers in 2010 and had a pair of 1,000-yard seasons in San Diego. The rest of his tenure was marred by injuries, including knee and ankle problems that limited him to six games last year, that led him to play all 16 games just once.

The bitch ass Eagles will be hoping for better luck on the health front now that Mathews is in Philadelphia. Darren Sproles and Chris Polk are also on the depth chart at running back in Philadelphia.

Ndamukong Suh, Miami Dolphins strike mega deal

The worst-kept secret in South Beach became official on Wednesday.

Ndamukong Suh is officially signing his contract with the Miami Dolphins, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday. The deal will make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

Rapoport reported Tuesday on NFL Network the Dolphins were prepared to give Suh a six-year, $114 million contract, with $60 million guaranteed.

Suh's per-year average places him among the top-paid quarterbacks. It's unknown why the move was delayed with free agency opening Tuesday, but Suh always looked ticketed for Miami.

It's a huge haul for a defensive tackle who has been one of the most consistent players in the NFL during his five seasons in Detroit.

The worry from the Dolphins perspective is not that they are signing a player with bust potential. Suh is one of the most self-motivated players in the NFL -- any comparisons to Albert Haynesworth's massive contract are laughable. Suh has begun his career on a Hall of Fame trajectory. He knows he must add Super Bowls to cement his legacy.

Playing alongside a fellow Pro Bowl player in Cameron Wake, Suh will provide Miami an overwhelming strength in their effort to overtake Tom Brady and the Patriots in the AFC East. It's clear the Dolphins' brass believes paying huge money for game-changing talent is the only way to reshuffle the deck.

The question the 'Fins front office will need to answer is whether a defensive tackle who never willed his team to a playoff win in Detroit can ever be worth so much cash -- especially when they have yet to pay their young quarterback.

For Suh, he's trading a defense that was dominant last season for one that could be even more explosive -- Brent Grimes is the lock-down corner the tackle never enjoyed in Detroit. However, he could face the same team-related struggles he went through in Detroit with an up-and-down Matthew Stafford under center.

For today, however, the marriage in Miami is just underway and everything on the surface appears sunny for the now uber-rich Suh.

Andre Johnson makes it official, he’s joining the Colts

The Colts’ whirlwind additions of veterans continued Wednesday, with their biggest get yet.

Veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson just broke his own news, posting an Instagram photo of himself with Colts coach Chuck Pagano, with the simple caption: “It’s official I’m a Colt.”

Per multiple reports, it’s a three-year, $21 million deal.

This gives him a chance to stick it to the Texans twice a year, and puts him with an excellent quarterback for the first time in his career.

Having put up huge numbers with the menagerie he’s played with (Matt Schaub, David Carr, Sage Rosenfels, Case Keenum, Tony Banks, et. al.), the opportunity to team up with Andrew Luck had to be a huge factor in his decision

Antrel Rolle agrees to three-year deal with Chicago

The Bears needed a proven presence at safety.

They got him.

Chicago has reached a three-year, $11.25 million deal with Giants strong safety Antrel Rolle, agent Drew Rosenhaus told PFT’s Mike Florio on Wednesday night. The deal contains $5 million in guaranteed money.

Rolle, 32, started every game in the last five seasons for New York. He notched 87 tackles and intercepted three passes in 2014.

PFT’s 54th-ranked free agent, Rolle could team again with former Giants teammate Ryan Mundy at safety for Chicago, which has had significant instability on defense the last two seasons.

Not surprisingly, new head coach John Fox and G.M. Ryan Pace moved early in free agency to add two defensive starters. First, the Bears reached a deal with Ravens outside linebacker Pernell McPhee.

Now, they’ve added Rolle, who strengthens a position group that has been a problem spot for Chicago for some time.

Report: Eddie Royal to sign with Bears

Eddie Royal and Jay Cutler are apparently set to reunite in the Windy City.

According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Royal informed the San Diego Chargers of his intention to sign with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday night.

Royal was in Chicago for a visit with the Bears and decided he wanted to stay. Considering Royal’s best season as a pro came with Cutler as his quarterback in Denver in 2008, the decision is certainly understandable.

With Cutler throwing him passes, Royal set career highs with 91 catches for 980 yards with the Broncos in 2008. Cutler was subsequently dealt to Chicago the following offseason and Royal’s production has never matched his lofty rookie production.

Royal did have one of his best seasons with the Chargers in 2014. He caught 62 balls for 778 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. All three marks were the second-highest totals of his career. Royal caught 15 touchdowns for San Diego over the last two seasons.

The familiarity with Cutler should allow Royal to integrate more easily into the Bears Offense. With the trade of Brandon Marshall to the New York Jets leaving a hole at the receiver position, the signing of Royal will help supplement Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett in the passing game.

Patriots agree with Jabaal Sheard on two-year deal

The Patriots have landed one of the better edge rushers left in free agency.

New England has agreed with Browns outside linebacker/defensive end Jabaal Sheard on a two-year, $11 million contract with $5.5 million in guarantees, a league source told PFT’s Mike Florio.

Sheard (6-3, 264) recorded 23 sacks in four seasons with Cleveland. He was primarily a reserve in 2014, notching 44 tackles and two sacks.

A University of Pittsburgh product, the 25-year-old Sheard has played in 3-4 and 4-3 schemes, which could allow New England to deploy him at multiple positions.
