So looking ahead already. What do you guys think are the biggest needs for the draft/free agency? Any realistic names come to mind? Do you think the Larry Fitzgerald chatter could become a reality?

Obviously a true #1 WR is a top priority, preferably a big one, as much as Angry Doug likes to say they are better than advertised, they simply aren't. Defensive line really needs improvement as far as a pass rush goes. Needs at the very least more depth. Offensive line goes with out saying. Would be nice to add more depth in the secondary too. Money is going to be tight so I doubt they'll be able to get big name free agencies.

I almost feel like the D-line is equally as important as the O-line. Remember the year the Seahawks lost to Atlanta. What was the big problem? No pass rush. Following year pass rush was great. This year it was nonexistent in the playoffs other than a couple hits on Brady early on. No pressure on the QB and guys like Brady will be able to dink & dunk all night. The couple times there was pressure he threw INTs.
I do agree, but id like to point out how well the OL played in the SB. Sweezy may have had one of his best games ever.
TE is a huge need IMHO. Miller is not getting any younger, and Willson is hot/cold. I would like a stud at that position.
While i DO like our WR corp, i also believe that Kearse and Lockette would NEVER start on any other team in the NFL. Doug is a slot guy, through and through and should move there. Kearse is a great 4th WR, but not a 2nd. I like Matthews, but he is tall and thats about it at the moment. Browner shut his ass down real quick.
I am REALLY hoping for Norwood & PRich to develop, but who knows.
I know Pete will look to add depth to the OLD/DL, that goes without question. There were a TON of guys that "redshirted" this year that will get a chance this summer to show what they can do for us. I dont believe Kevin Williams is the long term answer and Mebane is also aging. I liked what Jordan Hill was bringing before he got injured. Look for them to get and find another 2tech DL. They might get a guy like Kikaha from UW in the later rounds, who is basically a Irvin/Schoefield type of player. He had 19.5 sacks this year, as well as 27 TFL's.

They need to get a big WR I'm tired of these 5'9 dudes. Look how good Matthews was in the superbowl and dude was on the practice squad three weeks ago. Imagine if they got a true NFL WR with size, just makes Wilson's job that much easier. Not that Golden Tate was big, but what he lacked in size he made up for in the way he attacked the ball. He fought for the ball no matter what. There isn't a guy like that anymore. And as much as Kearse has made some awesome catches in critical times, I'm tired of all his dropped passes it's getting old. There isn't even a true #2 WR on this team, these guys are all 3's and 4's at best.

Size is not everything. You mentioned Tate, who may have been the smallest WR we had last year. His frame is tiny. Beckham is 6'0", and he is sick.
While its a nice story to have so many underrated guys at WR, we do need improvement. Paul was starting to get it going before he got injured and he can be that #1 threat IMHO. Norwood has shown nothing yet. Walters sucks. Doug is a slot guy playing on the outside and Kearse is the 4th guy out on most other teams. Lockette is the 5th guy out on most teams.

I know he got shut down by Browner, but the game he was having up till then only highlights the importance of a big WR.

While i hope the hawks give Matthews more of a chance next year, that was his FIRST catch of the season in the SB. He had been brought in and released once, and was on the practice squad most the year. He only got brought up becuase of other injuries. Yes, it was a good game but its was just that as of now...one game. He couldn't even crack the rotation prior to that. Maybe that was the spark he needed. He was a CFL guy before he came here. Also was a JC guy before playing at Kentucky. Kid played for a HS team that didnt pass much, let alone to TE's (which is what he played), so he got pretty much no love coming out of HS...thus going JC route.

I don't give a shit about all that just because you can't crack the starting lineup doesn't mean anything. There are politics involved and some people aren't good in practice( trust me I played hs, jc and d2). He had his best game in the only game he actually played as a wide receiver in the biggest game of the universe. Wow pretty classless from Blount. He wasn't much of a factor and Lynch had a great game, not too mention Blount isn't even half as good as Lynch and never will be.
