it's obvious arum is the one that was holding this fight up he has everything to lose and we have yet to hear from arum,
What are you talking about? Arum has spoken and said the deal is almost done. Maybe you should stop going to those blog sites and go to other sources for your news and you'd see that.

Arum on Mayweather-Pacquiao Meeting, Says Deal Looms
1/28/2015

"Certainly with this development in Miami and from what I know about the finalization of papers and everything I have to be optimistic. And I know that everybody that I deal with like Les Moonves of CBS and HBO’s Richard Plepler are all very positive of making this happen.”

“There are no issues that I can see that mean anything.”

"I think everything is positive and hopefully if everything keeps going well we’ll get it wrapped up by the end of the week.”

so Manny seems to be serious about his deadline.
There is no deadline anymore. And even the so called deadline by Pacquiao before this meeting had no exact date, he just said hopefully by the end of the month and then clarified that he will still be open to Floyd until the day he signs to fight someone else. So it was an open deadline, if there even is such a thing lol.
Confirmed, no deadline:

so that proves my point he was the one holding up everything
I'm not saying he wasn't, but how does that prove your point? Arum is the one that got CBS CEO Les Moonves involved in this weeks ago. Arum went directly to the head honcho himself to get CBS/Showtime working with HBO, and as we've leaned they have as a result. That was all Arum. The only issues that Koncz said Floyd had left were with the 24/7, All Access programs, and tour dates I believe, which Koncz said he got worked out right away. I don't think Arum would have anything to do with that stuff. If Arum was purposely trying to sabotage the fight, he's not going directly to Moonves to work out a deal. As of right now, it looks like everyone is onboard and wants this fight to happen May 2nd.

So Rigondeaux was on A Los Golpes with his promoter from Caribe and he went off.

He called LSC a Mexicana, said he thought Mexicans were supposed to be warriors and fight everyone, his promoter was talking about they'd be willing to offer LSC $1M guaranteed and up to $2M if he's able to win.

They asked him about moving up and said he's basically at 124lbs right now and could fight tomorrow at 122lbs and be fine. Said he'd move up to 126 but he wouldn't want to be fighting guys if they're coming in the ring at over 136lbs.

He said soon his belts are going to turn blacker than him from sitting there and he said everyone wants to be a champion, I have 2 belts and can't get a fight.

It was a dope interview. If anyone understands Spanish download the A Los Golpes on ESPN radio and listen to it.

Fuck LSC. Dude said he wouldn't fight Rigondeaux for one million, not two million, but THREE million. Fuck out of here with that shit. And that's one of the problems with Haymon fighters. They get $750,000 to fight a cab driver so of course they think they deserve triple the amount to fight someone actually good.

That's why Mexico loves Canelo. The Mexican fighter is changing, but Canelo is trying his best to give the fans what they want. LSC better be careful because he might end up like Mares and not be worth shit in a lil bit

If I remember right, Vasquez and Marquez only got paid less than a million between them for their THIRD fight. That's as much of an anticipated fight at 122 as there has ever been. 3 million, that's ridiculous.
I think there has to be some middle ground though. LSC shouldn't be getting $750,000 for fighting the Suavecito's of the world but by the 3rd Vazquez/Marquez fight those guys should have been getting paid well. That was a high level, anticipated fight, where both guys basically broke each other.

I'd honestly rather see a guy get overpaid than underpaid, just don't like when that same guy takes absolutely no risk. I wouldn't care if LSC got a million dollar deal if he was fighting a guy like Rigondeaux or Frampton.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. Those dudes should've been paid way more than they were and in my opinion, that was the best fight I've ever seen. Better than Gatti/Ward 1 and better than Corrales/Castillo 1. I don't think there should be a penalty on them just for being small. They gave more heart than Klitschko has had to show in his entire career, but people generally care more about Heavyweights than smaller guys.

Having said that, If LSC got 3 million for him for that fight, that's great! I'd be happy to see that. But to ask for that much or else there is no fight and go back to fighting taxi cab drivers is ridiculous.

Vasquez/Marquez were fighting on Showtime back when Showtime had a really small boxing budget, compared to HBO. Unfortunately for those guys they just weren't going to ever get huge payday at that time. I don't remember what they were paid, but no doubt whatever it was wasn't worth what they gave to the sport in those three fights, basically ended their careers.

Historically, I don't know what the most money has been made between smaller fighters, but I think the biggest money makers were probably Pacquiao at 135 for one fight, Barrera/Morales and Morales/Pacquiao for the 3rd fight, and Hamed. Maybe Donaire made some decent change? Outside of that, can't think of any dudes that made good money below 130. Gamboa? Maybe?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER: "THEY CONTINUE TO LIE ABOUT MAKING THE FIGHT"
By Ben Thompson | January 31, 2015
FLOYD MAYWEATHER:

"Laying back, relaxing, enjoying good weather, palm trees and piña coladas. While they continue to lie about making the fight...I'm just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, he recently took to his social network, Shots, to shoot down a recent report by TMZ suggesting that the long-awaited mega-fight with 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao is a done deal. We're told that when the report was first released on Friday evening, Mayweather on his private jet heading to Jamaica.

Not long after the TMZ story first surfaced, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Showtime Sports, Stephen Espinoza, was the first to dispute it on his Twitter account, writing, "TMZ usually has good sources. This time, not so much." He then followed that up with a quick interview, telling Rick Reeno of BoxingScene.com, "These series of reports that the fight is done is completely baffling to us. Rick, this deal is not close to being done, and everyone involved knows that. Top Rank's lawyers have said that there are significant open issues, so I don't understand how Bob can conceivably be saying the fight is imminent and will be closed within the next couple of days...I want to make it clear that it's not going to be this weekend and it's not going to be in the next couple of days."

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum also disputed the TMZ report, telling the New York Daily News, "No, I'm aware of the report, but there are still some contractual issues to work out. It's close but not done yet...We have two days, it [an announcement] could happen [on Sunday]. That would be incredible, wouldn't it?" While it's true that both sides are still working to finalize details of the bout, out understanding is that the fighters and their representatives are all on board, but there are still some issues that exist between the two networks, Showtime and HBO.

There have been plenty of huge lightweight and over fights, below that is where it gets sketchy. Maybe naner12 @naner12 's expertise could be used here. Those fights were at 122 right, super-bantamweight? Yeah probably Pacquiao, Morales, Donaire had the largest paydays. Nothing else is popping into my head.

a $200,000 purse for a 122lb fighter was considered huge. I just looked it up, Vasquez got $800,000 for the 4th fight which is pretty astounding and that fight was at 126. I wanna say that Donaire took a million for one of his fights but I could be wrong.

But I agree with you, and that was my issue with LSC. I think he was making that statement saying that the only way the fight would be worth it was for some amount that is unprecedented and extremely unlikely, otherwise there is no way he's gonna fight him.

Carbajal brought in a $1M purse for his fantastic fight against Chiquita at 108lbs. Arce, while I can't guarantee it, I'm sure has made bank. His ratings in Azteca were to the point that the fight with Jhonny at the end almost didn't happen cause Jhonny has exclusivity with Televisa and Azteca didn't want to give up the rights to an Arce fight because of the money he brings to the table (they both ended up airing the fight FWIW). Purses in Mexico aren't disclosed though so maybe he was getting dicked, but I doubt it.

Also before the banishment of the Kameda brothers in Japan I had read they were bringing in huge purses for their weight classes, basically rock stars out there. Koki & Daiki, Tomoki hadn't made it to that level and he was fighting abroad even before they were banned from Japan. Koki was rumored to make around $1M for his fight against Naito and I'm sure he got paid close to that or more for fighting Pong.

Again, those purses aren't disclosed though so I guess we don't know for sure.

Donaire $1.3m vs Rigondeaux $750,000.

I know Donaire broke a million a couple times before that against Arce, and I believe against Montiel.

Darchinyan got some good paydays too. Not sure if he ever broke a million but he was definitely one of the highest paid little guys in recent times.

Good information as always.

Yeah I knew the Koki brothers were getting paid big time in Japan. I'm sure there were/are a number of other Japanese fighters as well making bank. Different market over there obviously where the smaller weight classes are much more popular.
