China is and has been changing rapidly. It depends on what the consumer wants. If you a cheap bastard and only want to pay 20 bucks for a smartphone, you'll get a shitty one that won't last long. If you spend more, you'll get one that lasts longer. And they are all made in China.

In Germany we say the same thing about stuff made in the US. In Germany we make washing machines that clean your clothes, in the US they make washing machines that get your clothes wet. :lick:
