I think he deserves a bit of a pass for "being a bitch" against Froch (he probably should have got the decision regardless) because he was pretty green at the time. That was literally his first big fight and it was in the UK. A lot of fighters that early in their careers who haven't been on the big stage before simple lack the experience. I couldn't imagine how nervous I'd be on his shoe's at that point.

He looked awesome against Abraham. Maybe he did fake being hurt after the intentional and illegal cheap shot from Abraham but he still whooped him nonetheless.

I agree with what you're saying, BUT I'm not sure when the last time you saw the fight was. He was falling down over and over and over again which was just ridiculous. I've never seen anything like that, ever. The caveat to that was that Froch was punching him in the back of the head an obscene number of times which was b.s. I thought he beat Froch if I remember correctly, but his behavior in the fight was odd and he was acting like a ho.

He was whoopin Abraham, but again, when it got thick in there, he was acting like a ho. In maybe the greatest performance since Daniel Day Lewis's My Left Foot, he was acting like he was in the after-life and was lucky to be alive in there. I still can't believe that crap.

Hard to judge someone off this fight. He was coming off back to back losses after being at the top of the sport and was floored hard early. He was saying before the fight that he doesn't care how the fight plays out that he just wants to win and move on.

Don't think that fight's really a fair representation of what Trout can do.

I've never really been that impressed with Trout in the first place. He was just a bad style match up for Cotto (which it wasn't like he whooped Cotto or anything just out boxed him) which jumped him up to #1 or #2 whatever it was at the time. The guy at 154 who has the most potential to be a top guy is Andrade, imo.

Anyways, I hear rumors Trout may move up to 160. Maybe he'll be more comfortable there and have success, surely he must cut a lot of weight to make 154. Nothing really left for him at 154.

He looks huge at the weight so I'm not surprised he's moving up. He really strikes me as a guy that is only as good as he is because of his size at the weight. I think things will only get worse for him at 160 if he moves up. I wouldn't mind seeing him vs. just about any of the title holders at 160 that isn't named GGG. And his chin is hella questionable. He recovers well so he must be in good shape, but that's not a good look. Maybe he'll be one of the guys that takes punches better at a higher weight though.

Bally's Event Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey - Welterweight contender Mike Jones (26-2, 19KOs), returned for the first time since suffering a knockout loss to Randall Bailey in June of 2012, and suffered a disappointing stoppage loss, in seven rounds, to Jaime Herrera (12-2, 7KOs).

Jones scored a knockdown with a big left hook in the closing seconds of the second and then again at the start of the third. There was an accident clash of heads in the third, which opened up a cut on Jones. The cut was bad and soon Jones was fighting with one eye against a determined opponent. In the fourth, Jones was taking serious punishment from Herrera.

By the sixth, Herrera was beating down Jones and landing flush punches with both hands. Jones continued to get punished in the seventh and then the fight was stopped by the ringside physician.

Middleweight prospect Thomas "Cornflake" Lamanna (15-0, 7KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jamaal Davis (14-12-1, 6KOs) in a much tougher fight than many had*expected. The scores were 79-73, 78-74, 78-73.

It was only on a PPV stream on gfl.tv as far as I know. This was supposed to be his comeback, but I read that he lost. Didn't answer the bell for round 8.

That KO loss to Bailey must have fucked him up big time. Dude went from being 2 rounds for winning a title to losing on a random card to an 11-2-1 fighter. That's boxing for you.

I haven't seen the fight, but based on that article sounds like Jones was whoopin him, then once the clash of heads caused Jones a bad cut he crumbled. Could be a combination of taking a very long lay off with a mix of the classic Diaz oh shit I'm bleeding my own blood Freak out and self destruct lol
