Rosado would have boxed Vera a lot more in a regular ring, imo. Also dont think he would have KOd him in 5 rounds Vera is pretty durable (500 pound Chavez couldnt stop him at 172). Anyways, I just think it's a cool idea. Not better just cool
I'm not knocking the show, I'll probably watch the card when I get home. I just think Vera would've forced Rosado to fight him, if he tries to box Vera too long he'd likely get KO'd himself. I think they just put 2 guys in there that would've been a good fight in the ring.

I guess I'd have to watch it but what would stop a good boxer from unlimited circling and jabbing and occasionally engaging?

@ diggity.. it's sanctioned by the NSAC so they had to use regular gloves from the respective weight classes. Vera/Rosado would have had to use 10oz gloves.

This comment was great:

"wtf why are they fighting on top of a flying saucer"

LOL.

Anyway, I can see this taking off (NO PUN INTENDED) as it has the ko brutality of boxing but the vibe that you get from mma/ufc due to the ring being different. Who else is fighting like this?

I was wondering if it was sanctioned or not. I thought 206 said something about them using smaller gloves

lol @ fighting on a flying saucer. It does have a "bloodsport" vibe to it though like that. They should light that ring around where they are fighting on fire, that'd be live

Rosado got dropper to in the second the both traded knock downs.

It's a smaller ring with no ropes to work off so obviously you're going to be forced to fight more. From my understanding if u step out of the circle you can lose points.

Im not a big fan of this BKB cuz the ropes give the fighters more options than just standing there and taking it. Imagine all these fights that we've watched where someone is losing the fight, runs around a lil, comes back and wins! The regular ring gives the fight more of a storyline that we can all enjoy, rather than just rock'em sock'em robot type shit. But Rosado as of late has been looking more beastly lately, like he's getting comfy with his weight now so good for Rosado

As far as the Porter v Brook fight, both were clinching a lot but I don't blame Brook for clinching in his situation cuz he had to. Porter leads in with his head and shoulders and Brook's skills are high enough to counter that roughness. Overall I agree with the decisions with the high scores, Porter be doing too much.

This is a really interesting idea. I'm curious if it'll take off or not. Those dudes are like the prototypical fighters to be fighting in that. Both are brawlers with a recognizable name but won't be titlists or anything.

Looks like that's part of the rules, if you get punched that causes you to fall out of "the pit" its a knock down. In the same round Rosado lands a nasty shot to score his own knock down here is the full video if anyone wants to check it out

Right. I know they counted it a knockdown, I was just making sure to distinguish between a technical knockdown and an actual loss of equilibrium. Vera got dropped for real.

Let me state this for the record...
The Dirrell brothers have to be the biggest professional boxer cry babies ever! They make Black boxers look bad. They fight with that same fear in their eyes as Devon Alexander. I hope Jacobs, Dirrell and Quillin are all short lived champs. Their styles make for boring tv programming.
I'm not a fan of Anthony Dirrell by any means, but almost every Bika fight is an ugly thing to watch. I can only really think of one entertaining Bika fight off the top of my head and that was him against Jaidon Codrington on The Contender. And oh yeah, when he utterly destroyed Peter Manfedo jr lol. Other then that his fights can be pretty rough on the eyes.

Andre Dirrell is that dude that talks mad crap while he's at the contender status and fights a dude who he finally can't dominate like he has been dominating people his whole life and says "Why are you hitting me so hard? You're really trying to hurt me!!!"

Lol! I never really liked Anthony but props to him for overcoming cancer and all that.

I like Andre though he really is talented but fucked up his career being with 50 Cent. Now that he's free looks like he's going to be really active. I also liked how he said he wanted the best BUT understands he needs to work his way back up. Nothing worse than pricks who think their entitled to big fights. I still think him and Andre Ward would be a very good match up (maybe by the time Dirrell works his way back up Ward will be out of court).

Andre is crazy talented, has good power, etc... But the Froch and Abraham fights showed just about everything you need to know about him IMO. Has all the talent to fight at that level, and all the bitch in him to fail when the going gets tough.
