Looking for a Alpine amp but got 2 recommendations. I recently bought 2 Alpine 12" 3000 watts subs (type R).
I have a 2012 chev Impala with Bose speakers...IF that matters
1 guy said get a MRX-M240 which be...2400w @ 2 ohm??
1 guy said PDX-M12 which be...1200w @2 or 4 ohm??
Honestly I don't know my systems and don't wanna go into a store and they jus give me whatever. Are they right or one is better than the other or?? I want them both be same Alpine brand jus to be the same that's all

these days a lot of cars have some top quality sound as it is ...no need to change anything out
brand new car audio is always going to be "behind". car audio technology constantly grows. new makes/models only come out once a year. plus, buy a new car with a stereo in it and look how much your paying for the stereo. you can spend that money on a way better deck and pocket the rest.

Well, I finally got my amp in and I installed it. Hooked up my Memphis 12" sub I had and it's beatin with the new amp. Way better than before. I've been looking for a few weeks about what to get but my wifey took a pregnancy test today and she's pregnant so I'm probably stuck with this one 12" sub for now lol
Go home and be a family man faggot and go to church

That ohms shit is pretty interesting once you really start to understand it.

Basically if you wire the subs & amp for 2ohms(or lower) make sure they can both handle it.... Because the wattage increases.

YouTube has videos on this subject.

typically, the lower the impedance, the more straight through power there is (in layman's terms). You're more than likely not going to have a 2 channel amp at 1 ohm each, usually 1 ohm is only for mono or bridged applications. All that means is, there is less resistance from the power source to the load, or the amp to the speakers in this case. You want a clean power source and the least amount of resistance in getting that power to where you want it, to your subs.

It's not that there's more power with less ohms per se, it's more that the amp and sub companies can make a more reliable product when there is less resistance to get the power to the sub. You can have a cleaner sounding 2 ohm sub with sufficient power than some 1 ohm stable subs for instance. Impedance shouldn't be the only thing you're looking for.

Not to mention ive had 7 or 8 sound ordinance violation tickets from slappin thru the town
