Yeah but the subject was they the athlete had to take out a loan on a $10 million home...someone stated they get incremented checks that's why they don't buy it up front...I just responded they get signing bonuses which may come up to $10 million...I didn't say $36 million up front...but enough to get that home...shit even half down with $5 million then pay the rest of in a couple of months shouldn't be that hard.
if they got 10 million up front, about 60% would go to taxes, then there agent, then to pay off all the loans they allready had floated to live that "lifestyle", people who make money off god given talent are usually exploited.

Bottom line, you father a child & don't have an agreement with the baby mama expect to pay child support. And yes, the court will attempt to take most of what you make. It doesn't matter if your making millions or hundreds.

The more they can get out of you, the more they make for the county. It's not just your baby mama. Baby mama only get's a percentage. The court / system keeps the rest. Some of you are not understanding & perhaps I have a lousy way to explain it, but I blame that on a lack of volume. These people at the child support office are as bad as a D.A. And like it or not, you are a dead beat to them. It doesn't matter if your not denying to pay & your just trying to negotiate. Your a dead beat by simply being in their office.

OMG, how did anyone ever survive before unions?

Also, IRS collects federal taxes. So they benefit plenty of public sector employees and unions at the fed level. And if you wanna talk about states: yes, in CA public employees have all those benefits you mentioned. And our unfunded pension liability is in the hundreds of billions.
Unions were created to protect worker rights. Everyday people had a hard time legitimately surviving before unions. Even though there are no unions in my line of work, it is the threat of unions that keeps my employer and many like them in line to provide living wages and good benefits. Even 100 years ago, corporations in the US used to have men women and children murdered for people protesting the corporations, this is how the first unions were formed. Now, these same corporations murder men women and children in other countries for attempting the same courses of action.

What does your government do to cut spending? It doesn't do anything of substance does it. Instead of cutting frivolous spending they want to cut the pensions of hard working everday people, who have earned their pension instead of targeting the double dippers in management, police, and fire,as well as redundant and unecessary government agencies and programs. Do some research on it and stop listening to right wing radio or whomever seeded your ignorance on the issue.

Because of Unions: Public Education for Children, Equal Pay Acts of 1963 & 2011, Laws Ending Sweatshops in the United States, Holiday Pay, Employer Dental, Life, and Vision Insurance, Privacy Rights, Pregnancy/Parental Leave, Military Leave,Right to Strike, Veteran's Employment and Training Services (VETS), Compensation increases and Evaluations, Sexual Harassment Law, ADA, Wrongful Termination Law, Age Discrimination in Employment Act 1967, Whistleblower Protection Law, Employee Polygraph Protect Act, Unemployment Insurance, Workplace Safety Standards and Regulations, Employer Health Care Insurance, Collective Bargaining Rights, 8-Hour Work Day, Overtime Pay, Child Labor Laws, Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), 40 Hour Work Week, Worker's Compensation, Weekends, All Breaks at Work, Paid Vacation, FMLA, Sick Leave, Social Security, Minimum Wage, Civil Rights Act/Title VII, Pensions

my sons mom sees every penny, I never heard of the court / system keeping money off of it.

i did however have to pay for the courts services & that was the LEAST amount I spent in family court.
I might depend on the case. My wife's friend get's a percentage & the CSS keeps the rest.

Pretty sure murder was illegal before unions.

What point are you trying to make though? Are you saying public employee unions don't benefit from the IRS and income tax collection? That was my original point that you took issue with. I agree that a lot of frivolous spending could be reduced on the fed and state level. However, public employee compensation is the majority of CA's spending. And most of those employees are union. So a significant cut in spending, enough to even get close to catching up to our $600 billion pension debt, would result in significant cuts in compensation to unions. Job cuts and pay/benefit cuts.

Also, please don't assume all public employees are "hard working." Some are, some aren't. Yet with unions, all are treated the same.

You make some valid points in your argument above, and I can respect it. Yes murder was illegal before unions, they are still happening and no one is tried for them, just as people were not tried in the US for them either.

Once again its the bleeders of the pension system that hurts the pension system. For instance, in Phoenix, the proposed anti-pension spiking proposition relates to the everyday city worker. The 401k system being pushed is for the average city worker, the exempts will keep theirs (and they are the real pension burden). It does not relate to the exempt management, and may not effect police and fire in the end.

In California, public safety employees only make up 15% of the government workforce, but bleed the pension system for 25% That is the point I am making. Take into account the management position pensions and double dipping taking place in your state and you will clearly see where the real burden lies. The average worker is not bleeding the taxpayer. I am not too far from this issue in Phoenix, so I get to see second hand why the pension systems have become a burden.
