How does somebody get picked for jury duty?

I've never been picked and have never personally known somebody who has been picked.

The first time I had it I wasn't selected, but wish I was. It was a 2 week trial for meth procession. The guy claimed someone put it in his pocket when he had his pants off at some chicks house. He ended up being acquitted.
