I would invest in Macbook Pro, but on the craigslist market.

I got a macbook pro late-2011, i5, 8GB Ram for $600 on CL. Been running like a champ for 2 years for me. I have no desire to upgrade to 2014 macbook yet, it does nothing in leaps and bounds besides being thinner case then what my current computer can do.

I don't think I will ever understand why people get mac over PC aside from some exclusive audio/video software. Especially since they all use Intel chips now.

Even if it just comes down to preference there is osx86 which let's you install mac onto windows, so long as there is mac devices using the same chipsets as you.
