I haven't been keeping up with this but I am really surprised to see the Vice President taking such a hard lined stance on this. I agree with a good portion of what he said on there and this could be a landmark decision being made if the gov ends up approving something to allow immigrants to gain citizenship. How y'all feeling about this?

Let em all come and stay. I don't agree with giving them the type of benefits the govt gives the legal immigrants (fuckin Somalian people get all type of shit they don't deserve, tax free, cash, apartments, cars etc when they don't even know how to drive)... But at least let them come have a opportunity ALL of our families had! If you think about it, every single one of us comes from being once a immigrant. This is the " land of opportunity " right?? If these people are already here, and working hard trying to provide for their family's.. Why persecute and prosecute them?? I love my Mexican brothers and sisters lol. Hurry up and Make them Legal. Green cards for everybody..

I didn't read, however, I have no problem with anyone in the world becoming a US citizen if that is what they choose to do. What I don't agree with is letting people jump ahead in line of those who decided to follow the US laws regarding the path to citizenship. No, this is not the first time the US has done this, but I am tired of the federal government deciding which laws should be followed and when they can be unfollowed for their stupid political gains, yet any of us who are already citizens have to follow the bullshit to a t or we got problems. Roughly three quarters of a million people became naturalized US citizens in 2012 alone and 600k and above to 750k is an annual thing. Over 200k of the adults though from 2012 were listed as unemployed, while more than another 200k's employment was unknown, and that alone places a serious additional burden on federal spending i.e. government assistance programs paid for by the US taxpayers. I don't think its right to break up families either, but lets not kid ourselves, the US system breaks up families in plenty more ways than just immigration enforcement. This is just a political push for the Democrats to expand their voter base, my hope is that if the people affected by the current construct do gain citizenship, that they will look into our political system enough to go against both Democrats and Republicans- I'm tired of the "business as usual" bullshit.

What erks me is one of the homies, who was naturalized, was deported after serving out his sentence since the court ruled it was aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when it was really self defense and he didn't get a pass, but then clown politicians going to say ish like Biden did and its nothin huh.

What does this mean for Canadians?
I have to look up the statistics on this, but I didn't really care enough to research it when I heard it to be honest, but my political science professor said that the 2nd largest group of immigrants in California were Canadians.

Not to say that there aren't Asians in Canada, but I would think Asians would be the 2nd largest group of immigrants in California, but who knows?

there's a lot to be said about this topic. The angle they are pushing in that article was that it will boost the economy. There have been a number of studies that said that illegal immigrants actually stimulate the American economy more than they hurt it with emergency room visits and not paying taxes. The way around this without granting citizenship would be to have everyone pay a flat 10% sales tax and get rid of income taxes.
